A Kid's Review
This review is from: Fabulous Disaster (Audio CD)
this is one of my favorite exodus cds and to have it reissued is great news but the live bonus tracks are from the good friendly violent fun cd(out of print now)the art work is good with extra pictures and the music has been cleaned up and tweeked a bit the most noticable is the drums and bass but everything is clear/cleaner than the original release. If you don't have a copy great this or if you done have the live gfvf cd buy the 3 reissues and you will.I think this cd is as heavy today as 89.

Limited Silver Edition,
This review is from: Fabulous Disaster (Audio CD)
A true Bay Area thrash metal masterpiece (as are their previous albums). Sounded awesome in 1989 and still does today. Less focus on "evil" lyrics but more so on political themes and just plain fun songs (like "Toxic Waltz" & the remake of the War tune "Lowrider". Also Exodus does their take on the AC/DC classic "Overdose".Now between having this reissue and the Limited Silver Edition of "Pleasures Of The Flesh" all 8 tracks from the live album "Good Friendly Violent Fun" are covered. Comparisons to the original 1989 pressing. I DID hate the fold out over. I preferred the regular, original booklet. - Per usual the original artwork is sharper & brighter. - Reissue is louder, slightly more separation and bass. - A big disappointment was the reissue was a "fold out 9 panel piece of garbage. That also meant the original cover art was not originally "folded" in the right way to show the album cover! I really don't care that the back of this new "booklet" folds out into a massively creased Fabulous Disaster "poster". Keeping my original booklet. The reissue booklet had additional pictures .. But I don't really care. - Kept the new reissue back cover which does not have the "flaming shoes" picture. But lists the 4 live tracks. - The original and reissue both have lyrics. - The 4 live tracks are from the "Good Friendly Violent Fun" album.

If you like metal at all and thrash in particular, this is a MUST HEAR.I recommend finding an original pressing though, as this remaster is mastered too loud and tends to induce ear-fatigue really quickly, like, within a few songs. |
