Well other than taking your lower lip and strectching over the top of your head ( I am sure you get the picture) Face it Live is a in your face, punch you hard and leave you in awe wanting more. John Norum's guitar playing is on key and he is one clean player at that. His solo's embody and transcend even at times those of Yngwie and Uli Roth. IF you buy just one Norum album this is the one i suggest you get.

QUITE SIMPLE A GUITAR MONSTER WITH BLAZZING SPEED WITH A MELODIC FEAL. EX GUITAR PLAYER FROM THE ROCK BAND OR SUPER GROUP EUROPE, JOHNS PLAYING AND SONG WRITTING ARE TOP NOTCH, PERSONAL FAVORITES ON THE CD ARE WISHING WELL (BETTRER THAN THE ORIGINAL) BLIND, WELL ALL THE TUNES ARE GREAT BUT YOU NEED TO CHECK HIS WHOLE CATALOG OUT. all of the first review is true but forgot to mention great covers of free's wishing well and thin lizzy's opium trail.the band does a great job!

After the rather crappy Worlds Away a live album was probably Norums only real option. But darn it all, this is great. bulked up in the live setting some of the so-so tracks from his first two albums really come alive. And the turgid, morbid sounding tunes from Worlds Away also have some spring in their step here.

One bonus is the fact that there is a sense of fun here as Norum hits good form in front of a clearly adoring Japanese public. It makes me wish I was there.

And unlike some of his albums, on this one Norum hands over vocal duties to someone else and this makes this album feel more like a band situation than a bunch of hired hands, despite the fact that was probably the case. This is probably the 2nd best Norum release and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone interested in getting a look in at this artist.

Oh, by the way - Norum put out another live offering that is really hard to find. Called Live in Stockholm from memory it's a five track live thing done on his tour for his debut album. It has a few curios for the completist, but the casual fan will survive without this.
