Very interesting, well arranged, October 25, 2003

This review is from: The Face of North Vietnam (Hardcover)
I would rate this almost as highly as Riboud's excellent
"Marc Riboud in China". The quality of the printing is not as
good, but the photographs are mostly excellent and engrossing.
Riboud does not try to show the horror of war. Rather, he
shows how the North Vietnamese coped with the difficulties
both of the war and their backward economy. One doesn't have
to sympathize with Communism (I don't and Riboud doesn't seem
to either) in order to admire the North Vietnamese people for
how they endured.
