Nancy Warren has always loved to read books by funny, daring women. Bonus if the books are also about funny, daring women. Her influences are: Jane Austen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jenny Crusie, Susan Isaacs and Jennifer Weiner to name a few. Naturally, when she began writing, she chose romantic comedy featuring -- you guessed it - funny, daring women and the men who eventually win them. She believes in happy endings, the antidepressant effects of good chocolate and that if you want to enjoy the view from the top, you have to hike up the mountain. She has two amazing kids and the unconditional love of her Border Collie, Max.

Nancy's a USA today bestselling author of more than 50 novels. When she's not writing, she's hiking, skiing, traveling or sipping wine. She's appeared on the front page of the New York Times (when her book, Speed Dating launched Harlequin's NASCAR series), has been a clue in a crossword puzzle (National Post, Canada) and she's been a double finalist for the RITA award, won a Romantic Times award and often shares her love of writing in her popular workshops. In 2013 The Christmas Grandma Ran Away from Home was a Kindle Book Review Indie Award finalist.

The short stories were heart warming and the characters very likeable. Because these were 3 short stories (could read each in about 1 1/2 hrs)the characters and story lines were not very well developed. With better developed characters and a few road bumps in the story, these could have easily turned into a great 3 book series!

The three stories are short but pack in a lot of heat as well as characterization. I loved the family aspect.

As a hockey fan I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how all three stories were entwined with family as well.

I don't normally buy books where there are 3 short stories cause the plots and characters don't seem developed enough. But I really liked a previous book by this author, so I took a chance and bought it. Very well written with wonderful inner dialogues. The characters are realistic and the stories may have been short, but were perfectly paced so it wasn't too noticeable. I wish all short stories were written this well.

"Ice Time". Upon retirement from the NHL, star Jarrad McBride returns home to Vancouver to coach. When he and teacher Sierra Janssen meet they start dating, but she fears she is not in the class of his former wife, a swimsuit model.

"The Sin Bin". Jarrad's sister Samantha McBride and her former boyfriend firefighter Greg Olsen decide to start a new fling though she rejected his proposal before she left for college.

"Breakaway". Their brother hockey player Taylor McBride and Canada's top figure-skating star Becky Haines start dating until her parents intervene by arranging for their daughter to go out with a singer.

Ice turns ultra hot as Nancy Warren scores the Hat Trick with this charming tour of British Columbia.
