Hotter Than an August Atlanta Night, November 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Face of the River (Paperback)
I am not an avid reader of novels, but if others are half as exciting as The Face of the River I am missing out! Reading this book made me feel like I grew up in Atlanta and had visited all the places Jay described with such great detail. Each character was masterfully developed. I strongly urge anyone tired of reading slow moving novels to buy this thriller immediately.

I am not an avid reader of novels, but I begin to wonder what I am missing out on if other novels are half as exciting as this thriller. I felt as if I grew up in Atlanta and had been to each of the book locations hundreds of times. This southern city came alive in this book! Each character was developed extremely well in this suspenseful thriller. Once I started reading and the storyline took off I did not stop until I was done. I urge anyone tired of reading slow developing boring novels to buy this immediately!

Good First Novel, January 7, 2001

This book kept me interested until the end. I thought the author used great imagination and terrific use of descriptive language. He managed to keep the mystery mysterious throughout. You could guess, but it was never obvious. The emotions of the characters come through vividly. This is a good start and I look forward to Busbee's next book.
