In your face and heart to stay!,

"Face to Face" puts you in the face of true love... with yourself, your Savior, and your soulmate! This is a wonderfully flavorful CD, mixing jazz with R&B. I love the smooth jazz tunes and soulful lyrics. As you listen to the smooth sounds of "Brand New" and others, you will be swept away by the confessions of love in "When I Opened Up My Eyes" and "Face to Face". The music creates an atmosphere that will make you wrap your arms around yourself because true love begins within! Tisdale reveals more love in this project, and you'll love listening to it!

Who would have thought that the Bass could be sucha terrific lead instrument. Waymon has taken the art to a whole new level. Despite the obvious criticism of the use of such an instrument for the melodic lead, He has done a tremendous job of keeping the groove and not getting in the way of it.This ablum has kept his trend of grooves that are in the pocket and creative melodic improvisation. He invited one of my all time favorite groups, Out of Eden, to sing on " When I Opened Up My Eyes". The addition of their voices to the already mesmorizing beat made this song, in my opinion, the best song on the album. However, the other contributions are remarkable as well. Songs like " If I Ever" and "Brazilia" will make this album a must have for R&B and Jazz fans alike.

I have every Wayman Tisdale CD out and I love all of them. Wayman is a talented musician who is accompanied by talented artists. If you are looking for something nice and mellow to wind down with, I suggest purchasing all of his CD's, press "random play" on your disc player and enjoy! You won't be disappointed!

Wayman Tisdale has taken us to another level. His showmanship and skill say a whole lot but I must say that I'm impressed with what he does by setting a tone of relaxation and comfort. Even the sequence of the songs flow with a melodic order. The entire cd is a gem with no flops or questionable joints on this set. You'll love the smooth sounds of "Brand New" as Wayman wraps his bass around the song and seductively warms you. "Brazilia" is definitely a beautiful and refreshing cut that will have you touching the repeat button. He doesn't stop there. The smooth and properly fitting vocals by Ericka Smith will cause you to unwind and think about the special one. The song doesn't worry you it just croons and rifts sweetly by the subtle lead of Wayman's guitar. Don't walk away from this one because you won't be disappointed. "Face to Face" sounds like Tony Rich on backing vocals...., but it's David Mann riding the song like a new Jaguar on a summer day with the top down! "Can't Hide Love" ......all I can say is that you will simply shake your head at what Mr. Tisdale does with this song! I love it!!!! The boy is cold!!

STRONG MOVE TO THE POST!,

Let's face it, Wayman Tisdale was not the greatest power forward in the NBA and only a handful of NBA fan's outside of the Sacramento area probably even remember him. Therefore, unlike Shaq who sells worthless CD's on his name recognition alone, Wayman has had to prove his worth to music fans all over the world. On "Face to Face" Tisdale proves his worth by writing 6 of the 10 songs on the CD in addition to playing some very nice smooth Jazz on his bass. One thing Tisdale has obviously learned as a player is that any modicum of success depends in large part on the team you are playing with. With that understanding, Tisdale has surrounded himself with many fine, talented players. This winning team has helped Tisdale produce a championship quality CD.

This is my favorite jazz CD, I play it almost everyday. Every song is the bomb. The songs have meaning, and are sung by talented voices. His music has so much rhythm, that you would think it's a regular R&B CD. For those of you who are not into jazz music, this CD will convert you; I'll guarantee it.

I have loved this Cd from the moment I purchased it years ago. I recently purchased three more of his Cd's when I heard of his untimely death. A wonderful artist, truly a God-given talent, who will be greatly missed by many!

I purchased Wayman's CD on a hunch and I am glad I did. This CD is solid work by a hard working bassist. Wayman bridges the gap as he lays the smooth jazz out. From "When I Opened Up My Eyes" which has a R&B/Zap Band type of style to the track called "Stay" He does it all. I personally like track 4, "Brazilia" which he goes international with a fiesty, groovy, melody. What he does with track 8, "Can't Hide Love" may just be the hit of the entire CD. This CD is strong and just may be the bridge to his best work in the future. Steve Cole worked on several songs in this CD and hopefully Steve will be on Waymans' next CD

This cd is a wonderful addition to Mr. Tisdale's already growing discography. It really showcases his talent in ways that his previous efforts didn't. His writing and vocals allow us to see him as Wayman, not a former NBA star. After watching "On the Record with Bob Costas", I was blown away when Winton Marsalis said that Wayman was the best Athlete turned musician! He doesn't give his praise away to anything not absolutely oozing with artistry and musical beauty! After picking it up, I must say that I see what Mr. Marsalis was referring to. This is a breath of fresh air to the listener that needs it, and a source of musical herbal tea; "smooth urban blend." Get this record!
