5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
This book was a great read! I couldn't put it down.
It was exciting and fast paced from beginning to end.
I've read many books, but this one kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not her Best
I love Sarah Graves' Home Repair Mysteries but I think she departs from her proven track record in this book. She goes back to Jake's history in this story and introduces a character from the past but the story line is not very convincing. There's not enough of the down east flavor and home repair aspect of her previous books - all of which are very enjoyable. It may...

It may be time to give Jake a rest - or to spin off another character for this author. I highly recommend the earlier books in this series however.

If you have never read any of the home repair books by Sarah Graves you should try one. The are a light mystery with helpful hints for diy'ers. I have all of them and really enjoy the books and characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read in a good series., May 31, 2010
This review is from: A Face at the Window: A Home Repair Is Homicide Mystery (Home Repair Is Homicide Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
Though I admit I miss the first-person style of the first several books in this series, I found A Face at the Window another very good book in the Home Repair is Homicide series. I own all the books in the series and have read and re-read them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where did Jake go?, April 5, 2010

This review is from: A Face at the Window: A Home Repair Is Homicide Mystery (Home Repair Is Homicide Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
The villian was truly evil, his thugs mean and stupid. The Good People were good and brave. But I miss my visits with Jake, bring her back to tell us the story.

I was put off by the change in voice in this book, the other Home Repair is Homicide books are written from the first person point of view, as if Jake is telling the reader what happened, suddenly now it is third person point of view. I think this switch, for me, took away from the charm of the series...has the book gone into series like a lot where anyone can write a story using Jake and her friends and sell it as a Home Repair is Homicide book? I am not sure I will be buying more of this series.
