Face-cards are special flash cards for people with autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and anyone who needs help with understanding faces and feelings. Ten emotion expressions are shown on five cards. Dye sublimation printing with overlay on standard 'credit-card' CR-80 (53.6mm x 85.5mm) plastic makes the cards easy to handle and very tough. Labels are Arial on a light blue background for easy readability. The Windows/Mac compatible CD-ROM that comes with each set of flash cards has fun games and activities for learning emotion expressions; also included is eye-gaze, an activity for building eye contact skills. Includes flash card carrying case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotion Expression Flash Cards and CD ROM, November 25, 2007
This review is from: Face-cards G07A: Emotion Expression Flash Cards and CD-ROM pack (CD-ROM)
I used these in a classroom of special needs children. They could be used in typically developing classrooms as well. One child was autistic and the other child was very delayed with emotions. The CD ROM games were excellent to aid both children in actually seeing emotions expressed in a nonthreathening environment at their own pace. As a teacher, I know children must understand emotions and how to express them appropriately.

I wish these could be added to all school curriculum for many reasons. It is technology. It is the best way I have seen to show emotions from happy to disgusted on the market. The face goes from calm to happy right on the computer screen so the child sees the transformation.

It is also a wonderful purchase for homeschooling families or someone who wants to work at home with children. I think this would work well with children preschool age up to 6.
