4.0 out of 5 stars great game - don't trust the critics... try learning the game instead
Quick review:

great game, in all ways OTHER than one major missing feature this is FAR FAR superior and much more fun than the ps3/360 versions. I actually was involved in the share-a-boxer development for the ps3/360 versions at EA so played the game a lot and learned to do ok at it, definitely a great feature that is missing from the Wii version...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tough Game, but a fun twist on boxing
Facebreaker likens itself to the old school Street Fighter II in other reviews and that seems fair. The game strikes me as a blend between Wii boxing and when I first played Street Fighter II... I got my butt kicked. I think this is a fun game for an experienced gamer, but that younger kids and others with little patience won't get much out of this game. It is hard,...

Quick review:

great game, in all ways OTHER than one major missing feature this is FAR FAR superior and much more fun than the ps3/360 versions. I actually was involved in the share-a-boxer development for the ps3/360 versions at EA so played the game a lot and learned to do ok at it, definitely a great feature that is missing from the Wii version.

BUT - this version is MUCH MORE FUN, runs at a humanly usable pace (the 360 one is too fast for human response times, quite literally too fast IMHO), has more features in the basic gameplay and has better multiplayer. The fighting is much more accurate than wii sports boxing and the little tricks you have to learn work great along side traditional punching movements.

This is one of the most fun party games I've ever played...
but close the living room curtains first ;-)

This game is great! The response is dead on,I have never had a problem throwing punches.I am afraid that the poor reviews for xbox and playstation versions are hurting the sales for the wii.The wii version works just fine so don't let negative reviews for the other systems stop you from buying this one.The bottom line is that the game is fun and the controls are great.Buy It!

It is hard, sometimes you can't even get a punch in (VooDoo!!) before you get your face broken. But, like the old Street Fighter, you have to learn how to use special moves and then exploit holes in the other fighter's game.

I wouldn't recommend this game to most players, but if you are a big fan of boxing games, like myself I would say to give it a try and be patient about it... you just might grow to love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars We LOVE it!, June 5, 2009

I think this game is fantastic and my BF and I enjoy going head-to-head in fights. We're in our 30's and we don't find the game that difficult at all (takes a little practice to get the moves though), and the response times are dead on! Personally, I don't care for games where you just stand there and punch. This one is more fun and gives you a great workout (you will work up a sweat)! This game is like a cross between boxing and Street Fighter, and we couldn't be happier. I think this is the only boxing game you need... well, and maybe the edition of Punch Out because it's such a classic. I still can't understand why Amazon doesn't have Face breakers listed for sale anymore (other than used) and I had to go on ebay to find it, which was kind-of a bummer. But buy the game and have fun!

This game is one of the best boxing games around. My kids and I play it almost daily. It plays just like a realy boxing match. Get your opponent in the corner, and its extremely difficult to get out. It can be done, but you must have quick hands and be able to punch your way out. Be perpared for a workout as well....we find ourselves moving and dancing around the room as if we were in the ring ourselves....we are all exhausted after a few fights from all the physical exertion involved in punching....I highly recommed this game to anyone looking for a good evening of boxing fun......

great game for anyone who is a fan of fighting games, but do not expect too much because it's about a 3.5 star but there's not a 3.5 star option.
