Book Description

To Tweet or not to Tweet... that is the question.

"Facebook Diaries" journals Brian Shell's initial foray into Facebook both before and after publishing his first book. It explores his social media learning curve while being a chronological chronicle of his hopes and frustrations with Facebook as he copes with a friend going through cancer treatments and the grief of his grandmother's death.

Brian shares many of the delicate etiquette nuances involved... such as becoming fb friends with people you've never met... and then how meeting them for the first time in person almost seems creepy with the way they treat you.

With over a billion Facebook users and growing, this book is a must-read for anyone involved in social media to any degree.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good guide for us "thirty-somethings" January 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'd like to say that I am with the times! But let's be honest here, I am thirty something and I am lost when it comes to social networking. Brian gives me hope with the help he offers from his own experiences on the web. I hear this is volume one and there are more to come? Hooray!

Sometimes I felt like the computer dinosaur when it came to using
facebook. I don't twitter, because facebook is a good social network
to see my relatives and voice my opinions. I learned a lot from this book
that I didn't know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Diary of a Social Media newbie February 5, 2012
By Leo
Format:Kindle Edition
This eBook is an interesting diary about the author's initial plunge into social media... particularly Facebook... and how he was encouraged to join after publishing his first book to promote it.

It talks about all the nuances Facebook presents to a new user... old friends from high school, getting lots of invites, whether to add people you've never met as friends, people who post too much and spam the wall, etc. But all these revelations are illustrated amidst the background of Brian's life as told through his diary and personal journal entries.

I can't wait for Volume 2!
