Book Description

November 17, 1997
In every corner of the world, over the past century, people have been reporting encounters with a huge array of alien beings-- some tall and human-looking, some hairy and monstrous, some reptilian-looking, and even some that defy conventional description. In "Faces of the Visitors", UFO expert Kevin Randle and documentary producer and artist Russ Estes have teamed up to produce an essential reference guide to the most important close encounters, alien contactee cases, abductions, and reported photos of aliens. Each of the over fifty entries is based on actual eyewitness accounts and includes:

A detailed drawing of each visitor based on drawings made by (or according to descriptions given by) the people who saw it with their own eyes

A stunning description of each alien and the name of its home world, if known

A unique reliability rating, on a scale from 0 to 10

A gripping you-were-there narration of the encounter, along with meticulous documentation of source material

"Faces of the Visitors" also offers a complete chronological database on the often overlooked but extremely important Euro-South American visitation wave of 1954 and the North American wave of 1973, as well as a comprehensive bibliography of important books, magazine articles, and journals. It is a fascinating reference for anyone curious about alien visitation and an unequaled source for those who want to learn more about their own experiences.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Renowned UFO researcher Kevin Randle has scoured UFO reports from sources such as the U.S. government's "Blue Book" project and has collected cases where the occupants of these strange crafts were observed. Faces of the Visitors catalogs the appearances of these visitors, from the space-suited aliens of the 1940s to the ubiquitous gray aliens of the 1990s. Randle gives his expert opinion on the credibility of the accounts as well as a thorough bibliography of the sources for each (a boon for UFO researchers). Faces of the Visitors is an important reference for comparing cases of alien contact and for determining the possible influence of the popular media on the growing body of UFO reports.

1.0 out of 5 stars A bad book, April 14, 2005
This review is from: Faces of the Visitors (Paperback)
In this book, which includes credibility ratings on alleged alien abductees, some of which the author gave high scores, Kevin Randle contradicts what he says here with his other book on alien abductions, The Abduction Enigma. From his blog and recent internet postings, I get the impression that he no longer supports the credibility of the witnesses. Essentially then all the things he gave high marks to in this book, can be discarded. For instance, on page 17 he rates the reliability of roswell alien witnesses Frank Kaufmann and Edwin Easily as 9-- the highest rating in the entire book! But Randle no longer believes Kaufmann, and as for Easley, he made a death bed "confession" to his family, not directly to any UFO researchers. Faces of the Visitors was published in 1997, while the Abduction Enigma was published around 2000. Nonetheless, the author has recently assumed a debunking stance on the issue of supposed alien abductions. It's all sleep disorders. My advice, therefore, is to skip this book and most everything else by Kevin Randle, because whatever he writes he will likely retract a few years down the road. Both of his Roswell Crash books have been shown to be wrong. Pretty much all of his witnesses have been shown to be liars, and so later Randle changed his story. Therefore, one must start to wonder if Mr. Randle is either doing this for the money, or else he's a poor investigator. Ignore this book. It's definitely not of one Mr. Randle's best books.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Lt Col Randle's best, December 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Faces of the Visitors (Paperback)
This is a book about extraterrestrials people have encountered in past cases. The case is given a brief synopsis and a crude drawing of the extraterrestrial is made (usually by the witness). I was expecting a professional sketch artist drawing what the witness saw, so this was my first disappointment. The cases are rated, which is another problem as new information comes forward about the cases. The famous Pascagoula Mississippi abduction is only rated a 3, even though the witnesses were recorded without their knowledge and were talking about the incident which happened to them.

The book itself looks like an amateur publisher released it, which also I did not like. Lt Col Randle has other books on these subjects which are much better written. As some have noted, he has changed his position on some cases.

As for the subject of alien abduction, Lt Col Randle has a problem with hypnotic regression, which is prone to fantasy. While he does not rule out abductions altogether, he is skeptical of the number of people claiming them.

Still, a fan of Lt Col Randle and his work will be disappointed in this book.

(He gives the Hill case only a 6 on the reliability scale, which is one of the best cases in terms of physical evidence out there.)

This is a truly pathetic piece of work. It main selling point, its art, is among the worst aspects of the book.
