I purchased and read this book after my initial consultation with Dr. Ousterhout. Not the proper order to do research. Fortunantly Dr. Ousterhout and his staff were very informative and helped to answer the questions I did not even know I had.

No matter who you choose to do your FFS or even if your not sure you want FFS at this time, this is a must read book. It is certainly written and presented from Dr. Ousterhout's point of view and he is certainly proud of his work, but then in my opinion, he should be.

I wish I had read this before my initial consult and even if you have settled on another doctor to do your FFS; Read this book!! It is very informative and explains the procedures very well without having the need for a medical degree. There are also excellent drawings, diagrams and before and after photos. If you are considering Dr. Ousterhout for FFS, then you need to read this book before your initial consult. It will help to not only answer the basics, but also help to ask about things you may not have thought of. For that reason this is a must read before any consult with any Doctor, so you can ask informed and important questions.

The before and after photos in this book are the most stunning I have ever seen. For many of the transsexual patients in this book Dr. Ousterhout's surgery transforms them from someone who would not pass as a woman to someone whom you would never know was not born a natal female.

In reading this book, I got the impression that the author is very passionate and caring about his work. He also expressed his primary concern as being that of the patient. I am seriously considering FFS but, like most people, have concerns. I could only hope to find such a caring and knowledgeable physician in my area!

I would recommend this book to others looking for this type of procedure.
