Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

When we were approached to publish The Facial Workout - A Great Body Concept book, we took into consideration the importance that people are giving to physical fitness and exercise. This book addresses the next logical area of exercise, the face.

From the Author

My goal in writing this book was to make people become aware of the fact that the face is comprised of many muscles. By exercising the facial muscles, they can help maintain a more youthful appearance. I purposely used large type and wide spacing in my book for easy reading and I tried to be creative in presenting this dry and difficult subject matter. I wanted to keep my readers interested and informed and also give them fast, simple and easy to learn facial exercises. This book delivers its message quickly and effectively for Men and Women who have busy lives. How this book came about...One day as I looked in the mirror, I noticed my face was not as firm as it used to be. Since I am a licensed professional in the areas of personal care and grooming for Men and Women, I decided to use my knowledge of facial massage and facial exercise on myself to see if I could regain some firmness and tone. I thoroughly researched the subject of muscle structure and found out that as we age muscle tissue decreases in size and firmness, so I developed a group of exercises for myself that would address the different areas of the face and neck. I knew if the body's muscles were able to be tightened up with a regimen of daily exercise, why not the face and neck? As I continued my daily exercise program, I became aware of how much better my face and neck looked. The thought came to me to write a book about facial exercises that people would find very interesting and enjoy reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reasons Not to Buy it, September 7, 2001

This review is from: The Facial Workout : A Great Body Concept (Hardcover)
- The whole book is printed in all caps
- It mostly uses 36 pounds letter (if you don't know what's 36p means, use your thumb. If you are not WWF warrior, that's about the size of each letter)
- The space between lines are about the width of your finger
- The space between paragraph is about the size of your arm
- 1/2 of the books contains pure sales pitch, like "Facial Workout is Great!" (Turn to next page) "You need to workout your face!" (Next) ... If you go to their website and click through all the pages before "Order Now" ... They diluted those words into 40 pages and printed in the "book"
- 1/3 of the books teach man how to shave (???) and things similar
- The rest are some exercises, but I had abosolutely no interest to continue.

I received this book as a gift. Since I had never heard about doing facial exercises, I decided to give it a try. The book was interesting to read and the exercises were simple to learn. I have made them a part of my morning routine and can see a difference in my face. I would recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a way to look better without having to spend a lot of time and money.
