One of the best facilitation books on the market,
This review is from: Facilitating Empowerment: A Handbook for Facilitators, Trainers and Individuals (Hardcover)
So much is written on leadership of groups that it is refreshing to get a point of view that does not seek to lead (i.e. manipulate others to do what you want), but which seeks to truly empower others. I make use of Chris's materials in all my workshops, as they are easy to follow, are inspiring, and really meet the needs of those who seek to help others in groups access a collective wisdom, in place of a collective stupidity. Chris has written other book on Facilitating in specific areas, but for a broad introduction, this is one of the best on the market.
A facilitator of many years of experience, in many different countries, Chris walks her talk. This book is not just for a theoretical understanding of the issues about which she talks, but is by one with much hands-on experience of the reality of the problems you may face. |
