5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody, Please Watch This Video, June 20, 2001

I had hear that this video was worth watching, but it took me about 2 months after actually receiving the video to brace myself and sit down and watch it. I really thought it would be depressing. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Of course my emotions were tenderized during the presentation, but I was also offered an abundance of encouragement and practical information. I have recommended this to several people & would heartily endorse it for anybody who is contemplating a hospice situation. It's good to view if nothing more than an enlightenment into an area that we often want to ignore. For somebody who is faced with this situation, it may take a couple of viewings to digest it completely, but well worth the time. It would make the remaining time with a loved one more precious as it would eliminate wasted time trying to figure out how to be and what to do. Thank you, Jess.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS TAPE IS FOR YOU!, November 11, 2000

I wholeheartedly recommend this video to everyone who has had or ever will have an experience of the death of a loved one. This video is informative, thoughtful, sensitive, informative and well put together. It is not morbid or dark (as the subject matter might suggest), but rather loving and warm. And did I mention informative?

Several years ago, a close friend was diagnosed with cancer. The prognosis was not good, so I and a small group of family and close friends helped her through her transition over a period of 3 months. It was intense and loving and painful and bonding. Thank goodness for the Hospice...they gave us information about what to expect as she went through various physical & emotional changes. I saw the video a couple of years after this experience and wished fervently that we had had this valuable resource as we helped our friend. As I watched the video, I heard things that I had found out first-hand during that time and also had "ah-hah!" reactions as I realized in retrospect some of the things that had occurred. You'll know what I mean when you see the video yourself and I guarantee that you will loan it to friends and even watch it again as time goes on.
