3.0 out of 5 stars Bent tube
Overall the product works well. It did have a bent tube, I had to bend it so I could connect it. Someone not so handy would of had difficulty assemblying it.

I was installing back yard landscaping on a tight budget, and bought the Edgehog for the trenching function. The factory reconditioned model saved me $40 and it was in like-new condition when it arrived. It was very easy to assemble. I used it to cut a trench around my new back yard flower beds to install landscape edging. It did not dig deep enough to completely bury my four inch edging, but with two or three runs over each area it broke up the soil enough to make it fairly easy for my volunteer crew of friends to use a spade and push the edging all the way in. I ran the trencher, and found it very easy to use. The tradeoff of a gasoline motor for a cord is worth it for someone who hates wrestling with pull starts. The Edgehog is designed so the cord does not get in the way. I have some issues with my lower back and even my battery powered string trimmer gets tiring after awhile. The Edgehog rests on the ground and is easy to use. I am going to use it for several other projects, including redoing the edging around my front flower beds, and breaking soil for a French drain. I have friends who want to borrow it. I would definitely buy this product again. It would be worth it at the full price. I would give it five stars if the blade were longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reconditioned Edgehog = Great Deal, August 17, 2010

I picked one of these up to replace my old Edgehog that had died. Having had positive experiences with CPO products in the past, I figured I'd save a few bucks on my new edger.

I received my edger the day after I ordered! It was in great shape; looked brand new. It didn't have the little hubcaps on the wheels (admittedly, they aren't in the picture), so I salvaged those off of my old edger before I threw it out. They aren't necessary at all, but I can be slightly "retentive" sometimes ;) .

I had the opportunity to use it this past weekend - ok, "opportunity" is a bit strong as I don't enjoy yard work - and it worked great. It was considerably quieter than my old Edgehog. Not sure it if B&D tweaked/changed the motor over the years or mine originally sounded like this and got louder as it aged, but it was nice. All of my general comments regarding the Edgehog that I made under the brand new Edgehog listing still apply.

Bottom line, if you need an edger, the Edgehog is a great one to get, and the reconditioned version is an exceptional value.

4.0 out of 5 stars We've used as an edger and to break the garden surface, November 23, 2010
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Black & Decker LE750R EDGEHOG 2-in-1 Landscape Edger
I was surprised when this recon edger actually worked. More surprised to find that it would break the soil in a garden bed when it was set at deepest/longest setting.
I hate edging so I usually get someone else to do it. At least the equipment is here, works well and so I've had no complaints.

This edger is powerful yet easy to use. I was a little skeptical when I bought it for such a reasonable price but I must say it is all that I was hoping to get and more!

I ordered this to edge around my driveway. A string trimmer did not work well. This edger did the trick. It was simple to put together and was easy to use around the driveway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done, October 30, 2011

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Black & Decker LE750R EDGEHOG 2-in-1 Landscape Edger
Assembly of the edger was quick and easy, about 10 minutes to have it in working order. My wife is the main user of this edger, so the light weight was a big plus, Our yard had overgrown the driveway sidewalk in many areas, and it was quite thick, so I had some concerns that an electric edger would be powerful enough to get the job done. Fortunately there was no problem in the power department as the edger cut through the over-growth in only a few passes. In the end, it did exactly what I needed it to do, edge the sidewalk without a lot of weight or complexity.

I should note that if I did know that this item was reconditioned I never would have known, it looked just like a new model out of the box.

Great product for the price. Gas edgers run $200 and up. Picked this edger up for $65!! Can't beat the price! I have a corded weed eater so having a cord doesn't bother me. The only thing I don't like is, its difficult to see where the blade is cutting, so I have to stand off to the right side when I'm edging. Otherwise its awesome!!
