5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome tool
I didn't have high expectations for a cheap reconditioned nailer...i had never used an air nailer before either. This thing is fantastic! The build quality is really nice, light but solid. i've put maybe a thousand brads of all different sizes through it, no jams, no worries. It's pretty quiet all things considered, makes glue ups for my projects go so easy and most...

2.0 out of 5 stars Troublesome
I like how light it is. However, when every sixth nail or so gets jammed in the gun it makes a carpenter very frustrated. Unacceptable performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome tool, June 4, 2009

I didn't have high expectations for a cheap reconditioned nailer...i had never used an air nailer before either. This thing is fantastic! The build quality is really nice, light but solid. i've put maybe a thousand brads of all different sizes through it, no jams, no worries. It's pretty quiet all things considered, makes glue ups for my projects go so easy and most important i love using it! I find myself trying to come up with more projects just so i can use it. The ONLY thing i could think to comment negatively on is that i always forget to check the brad quantity...sometimes i keep on nailing after it's empty, and it still leaves the little hole where a nail would've went in so it's hard to obviously tell it's empty. there is a little window to check on this, but like i said it's so fun to use that i get carried away and never check the nail supply. i highly recommend, in fact i'm going to buy a reconditioned stapler to match for real thin materials that a brad nailer wouldn't work for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Factory Reconditioned Bostitch U/BT200K-2 18 Gauge Brad Nailer Kit, August 21, 2005

I am happy with the lightweight of this tool. It has worked well with 5/8",1-1/4", and 1-5/8" brads in soft maple and plywood.
I like the ability to change brad lengths without having to look for another tool.
The one disadvantage thus far is there is not a slot for 1-5/8" brads to line up with, you have to use the next length slot. But this has not been a problem yet as to the function of the tool.

This is the first nailer that I have owned. For new owners, be sure to read the supplied owners manual with special attention to the safety aspects. This is not a toy, it is very powerful.

The item is light weight and easy to operate. Both are important for extended periods of use. The nailer has an all plastic body, making it easy to keep clean.

It arrives in a hard plastic storage case, along with a small quantity of various sized brads.

I am presently using it in replacing my wooden fencing. The tool is very efficient and low impact.

I am very pleased with my choice. It is a very good value, considering the cost and quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little brad gun., March 9, 2009

This is a great little brad gun. Although refurbished, it arrived looking brand new. I had two jams. One was because I was not paying attention to my air pressure and was operating the gun at too low a pressure and the other was because after clearing the jam, I forgot to tighten the nose of the gun back together. So both were operator error. Otherwise the gun worked flawlessly and was light and easy to use. Would have given it 5 stars except that the nose is not quick release so when jams occur you have to take it apart manually. However, the gun provides an on-board allen wrench and extra no-mar tip on the side of the nail magazine - a great feature. The nose has 3 allen screws holding it together and is easy to service, just that a quick-release saves time. Would definately recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars BT200 Unusable, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/BT200K-2 5/8-to-2-Inch 18-Gauge Brad Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I needed a replacement for the Bostitch BT35B, a steady performer that died after about 10 yrs of service. I bought a new BT200, but it is not a professional quality product replacement. It misfired about 1 out of 10 nails immediately out of the box and it now shoots 2 nails at once after trying only a couple of strips of nails. I am a professional and can't spend time with a piece of junk like this. I will never buy another Bostitch product if they perform as poorly as this one.

Not a great unit. The head has a tendency to jam up when you're using it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good nailer terrible documentation, August 29, 2009

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/BT200K-2 5/8-to-2-Inch 18-Gauge Brad Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am not down grading for the worthless documentation as even someone like me who has never used this type of tool can figure it out. You have to look closely for the important piece of information the nailer operates 90 to 120 psi. Similarly the other piece is where the depth control is. But I am not down grading a excellent tool for the pretty useless documentation. It works just fine with Bostich brads. They will only load the right way and function without problems. I got some no names from the local hardware store and they were terrible. Irregular penetration, double and even one triple feed, pretty useless. I don't know about other brand name brads but stick to Bostich and it works flawlessly.

I've worked with bostitch and relied on their performance extensively. Even though refurbished it came in great shape. Although the description claimed to ship !,000 brads with the gun and case there were just 35.My one jump for the price from others was the little extra. It was a good price. The 965 brads would have made it a great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bostitch does it again !!, February 24, 2009

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/BT200K-2 5/8-to-2-Inch 18-Gauge Brad Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I own a Bostitch framing nailer, coil roofing nailer, 16ga finishing nailer, 15ga stapler, 18ga 1/4" crown stapler and the much older version 2" 18ga brad nailer. I also own a few other brand assorted tools, however I have found day after day the Bostitch is the one to have. Since receiving my reman BT200 3 days a go I have put close to 1000 2" brads through it(Bostitch & Porter Cable). Not 1 jamb or misfire. Class A performance.

I initially bought it on brand reputation alone. However like all other magnesium cased Bostitch nailer it is a pleasure to use. When my other nailers need replacement I will look at Bostitch first.
