I was very disappointed as I have always trusted Cuisinart brand products.

This thing also has a auto-reversing feature that is trick but what I really like about this item is the "washing machine spin".

Juicers all have people complaining about something--at least this one saves you money due to its quirks!

I don't know why some people don't like this item. I picked a bunch of oranges just finished "juicing" about two gallons orange juice without a hitch. Once you understand what this item is designed to do and you don't try to do more... like juicing a watermelon then it's GREAT! I think the main problem some people have is this thing has torque and if you try to grind on it, it will spin. I've seen the videos and read the negative comments. Come on guys, read the instructions and use some common sense! How many hands and how much pressure do you need to juice half an orange. Let the machine do it's job. If starts to move then hold on to the base with your free hand. Oh, and make sure you put the cord through the little notch in the base and it sits flush. This thing also has a auto-reversing feature that is trick but what I really like about this item is the "washing machine spin". Talk about getting every last drop. Some people don't like pulp, I like pulp... it's an ORANGE! Jeese guys, this is as fresh as your going to get. Juice, pulp, seeds, core, bugs, and what ever else in that orange will get "juiced" and end up in your glass. This is as fresh and natural and you can get. You don't like pulp... tough. Some people whine about the spout, it's a spout, get a small glass under it (I used a 2 cup measuring glass) and catch the juice! Yes it will clog up after about a cup or two, it's called "PULP". Clean it out and get back to juicing. Some people complain about too many parts to clean, all three (3) of them... get a life. Heck, I like this item so much and at such a great price I'm going to order two more just because I can. I don't know of another citrus juicer out there with this auto-reversing and spin feature for $12.00 refurbished.

First off, most of the people that review this poorly need to take a good look in the mirror. This is an under $25 juicer, not a hundred dollar juicer. That means you are going to be limited in what you can juice, overall design, power or build quality/life.

POWER:
Now if you read the reviews no one seems to complain about the juicer's power. Well I guess some do, as they complain it has too much power and can dance or spin. They also complain about too much pulp (because of the extra power). Now this many seem silly but with ANY high powered kitchen appliance you need to be ready to hold it in place during use. Perhaps you need to place it on non-slip mat to help control its movement.

DESIGN:
My thought is that people are confused on what this does. It doesn't take pieces of already cut up fruit in a slot like more expensive items. It instead does the twisting motion of a manual (normally glass) juicer so you don't have to. It also uses more force than you would to speed up the process. Because of this different design, it works well only for a limited amount of fruit--no carrots here, but what it does is produce more juice and pulp from oranges (and other citrus) than most other brands. I personally like pulp in my juice but if you don't you will need to strain it as it does not automatically do that. I personally like that because I can control the pulp amount more than if the juicer automatically does it.

Now some people complain about the design of the juice spout, it isn't tall enough for them or it is too tall or too small, etc. Well since the item can move during normal use and because the cup is small, I simply found a plastic container we had that was wide but not tall and use that.

The juicer is a good product that I use frequently and I am especially happy with the price of a reconditioned unit.

My girlfriend had one, and after visiting her recently, I had to come home and order it. It is small, compact, and is great for one or two glasses in the morning. The only caveat is that you sometimes have to hold it in place when operating, as it will slide a bit. Other than that, it is great.

I bought this juicer years ago and use it all the time to juice lemons. I have only used it for lemons but would imagine it will work great with small to baseball sized citrus of all types. However, I couldn't imagine using it with large grapefruit.

Takes some getting used to the "feel" of using this juicer. The motor is more than powerful enough to get all the juice out. After juicing a few lemons the clear lid goes on and all the pulp is spun at high speed to remove all the excess juice.

If you rinse it right after using it then you should have no problem cleaning it but if you let the pulp sit in the strainer for too long it becomes a little difficult to clean.

Overall, the price is right and buying it reconditioned will guarantee someone has tested it before you get a hold of it.

We have three huge grapefruit trees in the backyard and I got tired of eatting them so I thought I would juice them. Didn't need a fancy juices since all I planned on juicing were the grapefruits so I got this one and it works great. Very powerful. I have juiced around 500 grapefruit this year alone and no problems....knock on wood.
