5.0 out of 5 stars great product, like new!
i got this as a gift expecting it to be banged up, or something off about it, since it was reconditioned. This item came with the manuals and was packaged as if brand new. I would not know it was anything but pristine. I threw my old bigger food processor away. This is a great item, chops very fast and sharp. whats really cool is how the blade flips over for grinding...

Nice product that worked as adverstiser for several uses but eventually burned out and was in the garbage within four months. I only used this processor for small jobs that should have been "easy".

Add this reviewer to list of reviewers who feel Cuisinart items seem prone to breakage after the warranty period has inspired.

My full size processor is getting old...

This is a great item, chops very fast and sharp. whats really cool is how the blade flips over for grinding denser foods such as nuts or ice without dulling the sharp blade. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great but very loud, July 11, 2003

It's small but sturdy and works well chopping, grinding and pureeing. The only draw back would be that it's extremely loud for such a small appliance.

4.0 out of 5 stars food prep, January 16, 2004

this small appliance is incredibly handy for small food processor jobs. it is very powerful, easy to use, and fast. it does take a bit of practice to get used to protocols, including beginning with the processing of dry items, and adding liquid materials toward the end of processing. it is great for salad dressings, special dips and sauces, and the like.

it does not replace the full size processor for any sort of big job. it has only one speed, although its handy blade can turn both directions for a different effect.

a real bargain for very small households, and those who like to fancy up otherwise dull presentations.

My full size processor is getting old too, so I think I'll just bite the buller and a nice full size KitchenAid processor and be done with it. I will avoid Cuisinart processors in the future.

This re-conditioned item broke after I used it once. (There is a reason it's so cheap.) Amazon has a great returns policy though, thank god.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly made garbage, October 23, 2004

With just one mild use, this cheap plastic pile of dung literally just "quit". Thank goodness it was only $10. Amazon may want to reconsider offering Cuisinart products - I had a similar experience with a reconditioned Cuisinart coffee maker. All reputation - no quality.

2.0 out of 5 stars Get your EAR PLUGS ready for this hunk of junk, December 30, 2003
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Cuisinart DLC-2FR Mini-Prep Processor (Kitchen)
OK, so what do you expect for $10? Well, a unit that does not MAKE YOU DEAF when you use it. The decibels this thing puts out are totally OFFENSIVE to my ears, I cannot believe that a product that sounds like this would be sold by any company. I called Cusinart and let them hear my unit - they then let me hear one they had over there - the both sounded the same, very loud and obnoxious. My ears are still ringing almost 5 minutes after doing the demo for them on the phone. So now unless I want to spend $7 to ship it back to Amazon to get my $10 back, I just take the loss. :-( I don't think I will consider Cusinart products again in the future.
