Refurbs are interesting. I don't usually buy them, so we'll see how this one pans out for the long haul. I read the reviews and it seemed like all the negative ones - people were just whiny that this wasn't just like a corded one. No battery tool is going to be as strong as a corded one. This spins at almost half the speed of a corded tool, but I think dewalt did that so it still has plenty of torque. I've used this a handful of times now and noticed that it still cuts everything, just a little slower than corded, but it doesn't bog down. Being cordless and in a bag (it comes with a huge dewalt bag) I am more likely to use it than suffer with a hand tool or drag out an extension cord and set up for a quick cut only to put all that back away. You're not going to use this to cut through a 6" cast iron pipe, but it works great cutting off small things quickly. Or cleaning up all-thread burrs, or cleaning paint off a serial number tag.

I knocked off one star because of the shipping quality. It looked like it was returned by another customer (it had a Return shipping label with someone else's name and address on it). The contents of the box were all there, but it looked like it was all thrown into the box with a very loose amount of packing material - a total clusterpuff. What's up with that amazon?!? I got it all out and triple checked everything and it was all there, but still - kinda shady. But I'm sure all the pawn shop tools I've bought are even shadier.

Can do the work but to do it all over again, I'd buy a stronger unit
The trigger is erratic
