Thank you, my son is currently stationed in Iraq and is using the saw to build steps, floors, bookshelves, and any thing to keep him and his troop busy when he is not on 12/24 hour guard duty. Thank you so much for providing him and his troop (he shares and now is sought out) for a wonderful, device in helping to keep our troops busy durning this unfortunate time of war. Thank you again

3.0 out of 5 stars DeWalt DW364KR, 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw, November 6, 2006
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT DW364KR 7-1/4-Inch Heavy Duty Circular Saw with Electric Brake and Rear Pivot Depth of Cut Adjustment with Kit Box (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've been a professional carpenter for the last 32 years, and bought this saw when the Porter Cable saw I've been using for the last 22 years lost its bearings from cutting Hardi cement siding

I was looking for the old Black & Decker Saw Cat and found that it was no longer produced. I learned however, that DeWalt had bought B&D, and reintroduced the Saw Cat as the DW364, I was thrilled. The saw I bought was a reconditioned model, so I payed significantly less for it than I would have for a "New" saw. The recons generally have the same warranty as a new tool, but are advertised as having the possibility of carrying some minor, "cosmetic" flaws.

The saw I pulled from the box looked new, has tons of power, and had tight bearings. What I noticed after a week or so of use, was that the bottom of the shoe had been painted with aluminum paint to hide several fairly deep scratches. These do not really affect the performance of the tool, but do prevent me from feeling the same level of "tool pride", I would with a new tool.

In any event, it is a very able saw, and I'm sure it will function well for many years to come. I do occaisionally wonder why there seem to be so many of these reconditioned tools on the market these days.

Other aspects of the saw that bear reporting are: blade visability is not great, it is a bit heavy for a sidewinder, but I do like the way the depth of cut adjustment keeps the handle position low & at the back of the saw. I feel this contributes to the saws stability, and ease of use.

All in all, this was a good deal on a very usable saw.
