I bought the DeWalt DW705R to build my deck - The saw arrived in perfect condition with a new blade and owners manual right to my doorstep. I not only saved $50.00 off of retail but saved an additional $28.00 in local tax for a total savings of $78.00 with free delivery. The saw cut through 4 X 4's and 2 X 6's with very little effort and made the job a pleasure - This saw is not always available, so if you need a great saw at a bargin price - get it now.

First one arrived damaged; probably during shipping. Amazon was quick to send another. The second saw arrived in great shape. I was a little disappointed because the first one had a 60 tooth blade, but the second only had a 32 tooth. Condition of the second saw was excellent-near new.

This is a wonderful product for framing and general cross-cut work. It will handle 2x8's with ease. Additionally, it does quite well for crown molding. The positive stops are firmer than I expected, but not so much that I can't set it close to (but not actually in) a preset if needed.

I am glad I bought the saw and although it took a little longer to return the damaged one than it would have if I had bought it locally, it saved me the time of 2 trips to the city (which is 30 minutes each way) and the price of a new saw plus sales tax.

Over the years, I ve built 10 decks and probably 20 miles of 6 foot privacy fencing. I've always been stuck with a little 7 1/4 inch chop saw and a circular saw doing these projects. I bought the DeWalt 705R locally and I'm in love with it. When you start this saw up you feel the power and torque to cut 2 X 8's, 4 X 4 posts ACCURATELY over and over.
I've used the saw to build frames for work benches and shelves. The time saving alone is worth the price.
Another reviewer stated that his DW705R felt like a factory new item and I most certainly agree. You will spend some extra money on the accessories. But they improve the saw immensly - the extension length stop a material clamp are MUST HAVES imho.
I went from feeling like I'd been using "toys" to build with to proud to have bought such a powerful saw.

I purchased my reconditioned 12" miter saw through Amazon.com. What I got was a brand new saw in the brand new box. There is no way anyone ever used this one before me. The saw cuts like a hot knife through butter! I am extremely pleased with the positive miter lock system that allows me to quickly adjust bevels of stock up to about 5" in height.

It has plenty of power unlike the 10" miter saw I used before it.

Don't buy new when you can get new for the reconditioned price!

This saw is fantastic. I opened the box expecting to find a well used (scuffed, dinged) saw that was mechanically sound. What I found was a what looks like a brand new saw except the little "R" stamped on the motor housing. The saw literally looks as if were never used before. The 60 tooth blade on it definitely had never been used. Performance... amazing. Cuts though treated 4 x 4 lumber with out the motor ever slowing down. All this for $229 with $25 off right now. This is a great deal.

Got the saw -- refurbished -- and have found it to be both good as new (you can't tell it's refurbished) and an EXCELLENT addition to my shop.

In browsing miter saws though, I found that the dewalt models offer superior power, accuracy, durability, but at the expense of "features" like included extension rails, laser guide, included crown stops and clamps, etc.... so if you're planning to have all that stuff too, realize that you're going to spend lots of money accessorizing the saw.

Also, note that the refurb model does NOT include extension rail and/or a 60 tooth blade -- if you're looking for both of these, you may want to consider buying a new.

The saw works perfectly after I went through the alignment. It should have been pre-aligned before it was shipped to me but no matter. I wondered what accessories were available for that saw. I am interested in piece clamps, support brackets and possibly a laser attachment. If you can help me with my search, I would be appreciative. I have sent an email directly to Dewalt with no response

I just opened my new (reconditioned) DeWalt saw and what a blast! I had been using a borrowed Delta 10" saw, and for what it was it did a great job framing our new gas fireplace surround. However, I was amazed after making a few cuts with the DeWalt. Like someone else said, it's like I'd been playing with a toy and now I'm working with a real tool. The cuts were so smooth and sharp, perfect! One note, the invoice said my reconditioned saw would have a 30 tooth blade, but it had a 60 tooth DeWalt construction blade and I was very happy about that. The saw had a couple of very minor marks (not scratches or dents, just some small rubbing marks) on the table, nothing really, but otherwise it looked new. I am very happy with this purchase ($179 through TylerTool) and can't wait for my next project.

I needed to have some window treatment crown molding replaced on my historic home. I was able to buy this saw for about the price that our contractor wanted to charge per window. The saw appeared brand new and works great. I have completed the project with ease thanks to a well built tool. The crown-molding presets were a great help.

Tool looked brand new out of the box. This saw is a great deal. No blemishes at all. Great buy!!!!!!!!!
