Great saw
I was debating the smaller protable saw 50 lbs but noticed that it was not set up for the fence to cut 24 inches for a plywood sheet. I went with the 744R (reconditioned $299) and glad I did. Came like new. This is a great saw. No lightweight 70lbs. Added the bosch protable stand, almost a necessity. I take it where I want by myself. Diducted one star because of the fince...

disappointed
I own many reconditioned Dewalt tools that I use on a daily basis and have never thought twice about purchasing another reconditioned tool until I recived this saw. Every adjustment possible was out, the fence was not even close to being parallel, the pinion gear had to be removed and rotated three teeth, the blade wouldn't spin, it was hitting the table insert. I think...

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT DW744R 13 Amp 10-Inch Portable Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)

Every adjustment possible was out, the fence was not even close to being parallel, the pinion gear had to be removed and rotated three teeth, the blade wouldn't spin, it was hitting the table insert. I think Dewalt needs alittle better quality control.

Great saw, February 3, 2007

Came like new. This is a great saw. No lightweight 70lbs. Added the bosch protable stand, almost a necessity. I take it where I want by myself. Diducted one star because of the fince being a little less than I usually expect from Dewalt. It works well but will sometimes slip a gear notch on one side and have to be lined up again. It only does this when I cause it to happen. In fact now that I know what not to do it doesnt happen.

DW744, April 2, 2007
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT DW744R 13 Amp 10-Inch Portable Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
Great saw for contractors and home woodworkers. Wish the table was machined, but the coating that they applied works well.

USED SAW NOT RECONDITIONED, April 1, 2007
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT DW744R 13 Amp 10-Inch Portable Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I really like the DW744 table saw. I compared the major brands, Makita, Dewalt, Hitachi, Craftsman, Delta, I compared price at Lowe's, Home Depot, Guy C. Lee, and on. My top choice is always Makita. Dewalt was my number 2 choice. Price made the differance. Amazon is my favorite vendor. I ordered the Dewalt744r, delivery was quick and free. The saw was missing the screws and shims that hold the saw blade guard. I noticed that the blade would rub, and that everything adjustable was out. Adjustments made were to rip fence, rack and pinion gears and rails, motor, and angle. Now the saw cuts great, is light weight, Powerful, and accurate. The reconditioning was a joke but the saw is very good. This saw should rate 4.5 to 5, but due to complications and Dewalts lack of technical help, I rate it at 3. Amazon was exceptional and stood to make this sale a great one. Thanks Amazon. Rick Brown
