Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Capable of toasting up to six slices of bread at once as well as baking and broiling, this countertop toaster oven comes in handy for everything from breakfast to a midnight snack. It provides 1,500 watts of power for baking a cake in the 9-1/4-by-10-3/4-inch pan that's included, broiling a salmon steak on the baking pan's aluminum broil insert, or toasting a cheese sandwich on the oven's slide-out chrome rack. Both the baking pan and the oven's interior are coated in hard enamel that distributes heat evenly and cleans easily. One nice touch is a stay-cool rubber-handle tool that grips the rack so it can be removed without burning your fingers.

For the oven, a thermostat adjusts the temperature from the Keep Warm setting to 450 degrees F, and the toast function has a three-setting browning control with audible tone and automatic shutoff when toasting is complete. Housed in chrome with black and silver accents, the toaster oven contributes the retro styling cool of a '58 Chevy's bright bumper to the kitchen. It measures 16-1/2 inches wide (including stay-cool handles on the bottom), 8-3/4 inches high, and 14 inches deep (including a cord wrap in the rear and chrome handle for the glass door). The oven carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

3.0 out of 5 stars disappointed: knob was fallen off and no tray utencil incl., July 23, 2004
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DeLonghi XR640SRB Retro Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
I was disappointed in this purchase eventhough it's a very nice looking piece. The door is a little cheap as others have said. But also the top knob had fallen off inside the package, there was no utencil to take the tray out (manual says it's included) and lastly, underneath where the top knob goes was dirt that was there from the previous user. That was disgusting. You'd think they'd clean that at some point in the reconditioning process. So far it is working okay, it is quite large and toasts fine. I'm not all too happy, good luck if you do go for this model, I hope you get a better unit. Reconditioned is always sketchy, I try to stay away when I can.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad DeLonghi Experience, August 30, 2006

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DeLonghi XR640SRB Retro Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
We purchased a DeLonghi toaster oven and both the toaster and oven functions stopped working right after the one year warranty expired. We barely used this product. When contacting customer service we were told that there were no replacement parts available for our model and there was nothing we could do and nothing they would do for us. My $20 toastmaster lasted more than 15 years! This is the last time I buy a toaster based on appearance!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Dissapointing, February 12, 2007
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned DeLonghi XR640SRB Retro Toaster Oven (Kitchen)
Bought this oven for the looks. Never again. Used it almost exclusively for toast and it died before 2 years. The bottom element stopped working, so toasts only on top. Also has a significant safety issue - when you open the oven, it does not shut off. I wouldn't recommend at all, but particularly if you have small kids.
