I was a little skeptical of purchasing reconditioned tools sight unseen. However, the DD500 arrived well packed and in "new" condition. There was no way I could identify it from a new unit. The Drill Doctor worked flawlessly and I no longer need to hunt for sharp drill bits. I am well pleased with my purchase from Amazon and and the Drill Doctor DD500r is worth every penny I paid for it.

The Drill doctor is great for drill bits in the medium range. Small drill bits are very difficult to align in the alignment mechanism. Large drill bits are a bit much for the motor and it bogs down. You just have to go a little slow.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with it!

After a short learning curve, I have returned many of my twist drills to like new or better than new condition, saving the use of my brad point drills some and keeping my twist drills from dancing.

I fould the "Factory Reconditioned Drill Doctor DD500R 3/32" - 1/2" Precision Drill Bit Sharpener" to be easy to operate, and do a very good job sharpening drill bits. This is a good product.

The DD500R drill sharpener is a great buy! It may be rebuilt,but you would never know it.Saves dollars and time.I dont have to go to the hardware store to buy a sharp drill bit when I am in the middle of a job.

Great product with some limitations. Arrived well package . Looked brand new! I sharped about 100 drills with the unit. Nice video instruction tape and two booklets of instructions. Read and reread until you understand how it works, very simple in the long run. Did a nice job on split points. Very short and small drills were hard to sharpen. Their price is not worth the effort anyway.Anything over 1/4 inch is a breeze to sharpen. I seldom use over 1/2inch drills so Mod 500 is fine. You can order large chuck later if you need it. Diamond wheel shows almost no wear at this point. The wheel is a little pricy, found them for $19

I purchased a factory reconditioned tool to reduce the overall cost. The product arrived in new condition and works very well. The instructions are very good and the product is easy to use producing excellent result with very little practice. I am completely satified with this purchase and highly recommend buying factory reconditioned tools that are warranteed whenever possible.

I have tried to sharpen drill bits on a grinding wheel.They never seemed to come out right.Ilooked at the Drill Doctor,and thought it was to good to be true.I checked out other sharpners,and did not like them.I bought a Drill Doctor,and think it is the best.Make sure you read the instructions,and you will have no problems.Be for you turn it on,put a bit in,and see how easy it is to set up.You will be sharping drill bit like a pro in no time.

Received this sharpener in GREAT/NEW shape. If it didn't say "Reconditioned" on the package, I'd think it was new. It Works great and is VERY easy to use. (Even sharpening split point bits). Within minutes of reading the "How To" quick start area, I was sharpening all my worn bits. With a savings of $50 over a "New" unit, I feel I found a real deal. For all those reading this and contemplating purchasing this unit..... BUY ONE... IT'S GREAT.

I have been hand sharpening drills for 60 years, and always wondered if there was a precision sharpening machine to do the same. Now I have purchased a Drill Doctor 500--and is an amazing instrument to do just that. It is very easy to use, and the results are quickly performed. The split tip grind is superb and very easy to do. It is an addictive machine, as you are looking all over the shop for additional drills to sharpen! I believe it should be listed as a "Guy's Toy tool"...at every step of the process its, "wow" "neato" "chuckle-chuckle" "amazing"! The instrument is worth every penney, and makes drilling and machining a snap.
