This vacuum is good
on February 28, 2012
Qualification: I've only had this vacuum for one week.
It in no way looks refurbished, so I wouldn't worry about getting an 'used looking' vacuum. The attachments are in the handle (2 attachments), and I have had no trouble with them falling out. Does not come with a floor attachment, you are supposed to use the head that you see in the picture and simply push the button (on the handle) to turn off and on the beater brush. I do think this vacuum has more sucking power (?) than my previous kenmore canister- but that vacuum was at least a decade old and had sucked up enough dog hair to make an entire new pack.
The head on this thing swivels, which I really like. You don't have to go back and forth to get into cracks, just turn the head. I also like that the wand can be extended and shortened- I thought this feature was going to be for reaching up for cobwebs, but I find it equally useful in having it match my height. Of all the activities that I do, vacuuming killed my back the most. I think being able to adjust the height of the wand helps me have better posture when I vacuum. I don't think the vacuum is too bulky (it seems small to me), nor do I think the hose is thick. I actually think it is longer than my previous vacuum. I suppose the main marketing piece for this vacuum is that it has some great filtering stuff going on. I can't really address that because it's really hard to prove, but I can say that there is no funky dog hair smell after I vacuum.
