For digital camcorder owners, transferring home movies to DVD has never been easier. A convenient front-panel DV input (1394 connection) enables digital camcorders to be plugged in for easy recording to DVD and for television playback. One of the most versatile players on the market, the VR3930R plays practically everything -- VHS tapes, DVDs, DVD-R/RW discs, DVD+R/RW discs, music CDs, MP3 audio CDs, and even JPEG-image files on CD-R/RW discs. As an added convenience, the VR3930R, unlike most other DVD and VCR combination players, allows users to connect to their television using any of the available video connections, including S-video, and view both DVD and VHS material without having to change connections.
The VR3930R also features progressive scan for the highest quality DVD video on a digital TV, a four-head hi-fi VCR for superior slow motion and stop action, and a 181-channel tuner with an eight-event, one-year timer. With Dolby Digital and DTS digital audio output, the VR3930R offers crisp and clear virtual surround (3D surround) sound. The GoVideo VR3930R also features one-remote operation of both the DVD and VCR, an automatic clock set and channel search, and a child-lock front panel for added safety.
What's in the Box
The GoVideo VR3930R, composite audio/video cable, coaxial cable, a remote control with two AAA batteries, a blank recordable DVD, and a user's manual.

review of GoVideo VR3930R DVD recorder,
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned GoVideo VR3930R DVD Recorder/VHS Combo (Electronics)
When I opened box I found one button on front of instrument was bent and not usuable. Whether it was caused by shipping, or defective, I do not know. Many attempts to call GoVideo were fruitless.

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned GoVideo VR3930R DVD Recorder/VHS Combo (Electronics)
I purchased the (reconditioned) unit to replace a VCR that finally died after 17 years of flawless service. So far it has performed well. Movies recorded from mini satellite dish on LP are indistinguishable in my eye from the original broadcast. I learned that up to 8 LP albums (long-play record albums ... what we listened to when I was young) can be squeezed onto one -R DVD, using LP mode. Again, the playback to my ears is as good as the original, and it's much easier to find tracks than with VHS copies of the old albums. Copying from VHS tapes to DVD has not been a problem, either, though I haven't had a need to attempt the reverse. One problem. I use the VR3930 audio-video input 1 to connect my satellite decoder to ensure that stereo sound gets recorded from that source. That leaves audio-video input 2 (on the front of the VR3930)for recording from other sources like my stereo amplifier. Problem is, once recording is finished and the VR3930 is turned off, some sort of feedback is transmitted through the cables to the stereo amlifier, making the sound from all sources (FM, CD, Casette Tape, Phono) sound a little fuzzy, like a slightly weak signal from a nearly-too-distant FM station. If the VR3930 is turned back on, or if the line-input cables from the stereo amplifier to audio-video input 2 are disconnected, the sound returns to normal. Slightly annoying, and never experienced by me with other line components (including my old, dead VCR). All-in-all, I'm pleased, though it's still early ...
