This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Accolade 400 Stand Mixer, Meringue (Kitchen)
I just ordered this item (and opened it when I received it) it looks brand new. there are not any marks, scratches, nicks of any type on it. It did come in a kitchenaid refurbished box (marked refurbished on it and not a regular kitchenaid picture box) but hey for the price diffrence. Also on the box it has this item comes with a 6 month warrenty from kitchenaid.

Better than Artisan Model - Two Precautions,
By
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Accolade 400 Stand Mixer, Meringue (Kitchen)
I was a bit reprehensive about purchasing a reconditioned unit, but it arrived like new. I've had my mixer for a few days and it has performed well. This model is a step up from the often advertised Artisan; it has ALL-metal gears and is more powerful, but unlike the professional models, maintains the tilt (hinge) feature rather than the bowl lift (see the Kitchen Aid website). I like the tilt because the lift requires you to detach the attachments before removing the bowl. The attachments and bowl can all be placed in the dishwasher except for the whisk, which is easily cleaned by hand. Two things surprised me, though, upon the product's arrival. First, the "Meringue" it is not white; it is a very light gray, and VERY slightly opalescent. The picture is a pretty accurate representation of the color against the white background, but I hadn't noticed the color when I ordered the mixer. Fortunately, it still looks great on a darker-gray counter and against a white kitchen backsplash. Second, as others have noted, the product does not come with a splash shield. I wrote customer service and cited the picture, which still shows the shield, unlike the other models that don't come with the shield and don't show it. They promptly apologized and credited my card the cost of a new shield which I then ordered. Overall, I am quite pleased with the purchase.

A Great Purchase!,

I was originally very nervous about buying a factory-reconditioned mixer...What if it's nicked or dented? What if it doesn't work right? NO PROBLEM!!!! My mixer arrived in jsut a few days and in PERFECT condition. No nicks, no scratches, no dents. I've tried the mixer on several different recipes: pizza dough, pound cake, lemon glaze, and a double batch of chocolate chip cookies. It works like a dream! Some may be worried about the reduced warranty (6 months instead of 1 year), but just check out your credit card purchase policies. Our card from Wells Fargo gives us an extended warranty on anything we purchase. As far as I'm concerned, this mixer is one of the best deals on Amazon.com!

Very Poor Service From Amazon!,
By
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Accolade 400 Stand Mixer, Honeysuckle Yellow (Kitchen)
I regreted I trusted Amazaon on my Purchase. Amazon Cheated. When I ordered the Mixer, the product description says it "include pouring shield", when I got the mixer and ther pouring shield was not in the box. I came back to the Amazon and found this item still saying "include pouring shield". Then I wrote the Customer Service to complain about it and requested credit for it. The Customer Service said "I am sorry, but the the website said 'do not include pouring shield'". I went back to the website and realized they just changed the website product description before they got back to me. They cheated! It is not fair to a customer like me since I have no power on anything!! They can change their website content anyway they want. Don't you feel it is suspicious -- a selling saying what is not included in the product while it is a place to say what is included in the item. Obviously, someone just changed the verbage in a hurry without too much thinking throuh... The more funny thing is when I rated it 1 star, it won't be published. So I have to choose 4 star to get it published. Amazon might have some thing to block 1 star rating.

At these holiday prices, I had to have this 400 watt white Moby behemoth. It was shipped within 5 days, and pack securely. The mixer was spotless, the edges and seams sharp in fine detail. It spun great right out of the box. With the whip, paddle & hook included. Of course, there was NO shield--wah wah. At that price I can be a little more careful pouring in ingredients or buy the shield. I paid $30 more then this 30 years ago, for my little 250 watt KitchenAid mixer, which is still running, to this day, although weak compared to my new white leviathan.

Powerhouse!,

I was replacing my original Kitchen-aid mixer that I purchased about 15 years ago for $99. It was a great mixer and was 225 watts. I found the factory reconditioned and all things considered, I ended up paying very little more and man! is it a great machine. Factory reconditioned? Who can tell. It's spotless and works like a charm. It came boxed out of it's original packaging so I think this was probably a store display. It's beautiful and I am so happy to have a mixer that can really knead all the bread we bake in our house. My last one was just worked to death, I think. I can put in anything and not worry about it flying all over the kitchen with the function that starts the beaters slowly no matter how fast you turn it on (with kids, we've tried all the settings! They aren't so fond of this feature as I am.) But I'm glad to have no more flour showers. I would definitely suggest the factory reconditioned, if you can find 'em. Great deal and hopefully the last one I'll need for quite some time.

Amazon's listing was incorrect, the machine does not come with a pouring shield. Comes with standard equipment only, that is the mixer, 5 quart bowl, dough hook, wire beater, and flat beater.Called Amazon and they agreed to refund the price of buying the pouring shield new. Now that's customer service! Anyways, back to the beater. According to the manual that came with it, these are mixers that were used on a trial basis and returned. They are not mixers that have broken and been repaired for resale. Comes with a 6 month warranty. This mixer really works well! To christen it, I have just finished making a New York styled cheesecake. It went through mixing the cream cheese like no other, since it can mix very slowly I don't have to worry about air bubbles that can cause the cheesecake to collapse while in the oven. It is somewhat loud, but that is to be expected for something that has an all-metal construction. I highly recommend this stand mixer to anybody, even if it doesn't come with a pouring shield!

Love this Mixer,
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Accolade 400 Stand Mixer, Licorice (Kitchen)
I purchased this reconditioned mixer and absolutely love it. I can't believe the savings I got from Amazon...I have purchased a bunch of accessories and still haven't paid what I would have had to pay full price for the mixer alone. I love the versatility of this mixer....initially bought a food processor but returned it after checking out the accessories for the mixer. Don't hesitate with this mixer....you will never regret it.

fantastic value,

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Accolade 400 Stand Mixer, Dijon (Kitchen)
I was sceptical on buying a factory reconditioned model, but after reading all the other reviews I dedided to go for it and I'm very pleased. The mixer arrived and I immediately started using it-it's great. One tiny little cosmetic flaw that was touched up with matching "paint" on the base behind the bowl that can't even be seen unless your actually looking for something wrong with it-it's great, and at less than half the price of a brand new never touched one, it's a wonderful value for someone on a budget. I recommend factory reconditioned to everyone now. A 6 month warranty rather than a 1 year warranty is no big deal to me-I love my new mixer-now I have "power tools" in the kitchen comparable to my hubby's power tools in the garage :)

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Accolade 400 Stand Mixer, Sky Blue (Kitchen)
I LOVE this mixer!! I ordered it in sky blue with the free shipping and it arrived in 3 days!! This mixer was a great deal, with the January promotion of $25.00 off I only paid $125.00 for the mixer and NO shipping costs, it is heavy too. It is in brand new condition, there is not a scratch on it. I can't believe all the complaints about the pouring shield not being included. Amazon was not hiding anything, they state the pouring shield is NOT included (in the features, above the description), if people would bother to read it. I'm not complaining about a $20.00 pouring shield considering I saved $200.00 off the original price of the mixer. Most places that carry KitchenAids also sell pouring shields, they are easy enough to find if I decide I want one (I just saw them at Target the other day). If you really want it included in the mixer then spend the extra $100.00 or so for a model that comes with one. I am very happy with the mixer, the price and the service from Amazon.
