I had been longing for one of these for years and years but just couldn't justify the cost. When I found it reconditioned ..... at about half the "new" cost I couldn't pass it up and haven't had a second of regret.I was instantly impressed by the condition as this mixer came out of the box. It appears to be new. Perhaps I got one someone recieved as a gift and just didn't want and returned - although the only possible reason for that would be they already own one and expect it to last forever. There is not a scratch nor any sign on any part that this mixer had ever been used at all. Since the purchase of this mixer and it's "sister" appliance, the KitchenAid food processor, I have been cooking much more, and enjoying doing so infinately more than before I owned these. I have yet to give this mixer an assignment it can't handle. Double batches of cookie or pastry dough, no problem. In fact even double batches look small in the bowl and the motor shows not a hint of stress. The mixer is a bit louder than I would have liked but I don't consider this a problem. My hand and stick mixers make as much noise. It doesn't interfere with a face-to-face conversation, but a telephone conversation might be best left for when you are finished. And who can't wait for the few minutes it takes to get even the biggest job done with this machine? You will definately want to make a permanent place for this appliance on your countertop. It is HEAVY - which keeps it from moving around when given even the job of mixing 5 meatloaves, but could possibly either land you in traction or negate your need to go to the gym if you stored it away and had to move it frequently. Adding ingredients can be tricky with the bowl lifted, but can be solved with most things by placing your dry ingredients on a piece of parchment paper and forming a type of "chute" to shake them in with. Changing the attachments is even easier than changing the beaters on a hand mixer. Cleanup is a breeze. Wash the attachment by hand to keep from discoloring in the dishwasher and wipe down the machine with a damp cloth and dry with a paper towel. I'm sure this machine will look like new even when it is 30 years old. Buy this and you won't regret it. I love mine!

We just purchased a "Factory Reconditioned KitchenAid RKP2671WH Professional Mixer" and it was not reconditioned it was broke. This was our first purchase of a reconditioned item and we were hoping for the best but it did not pan out so we are in return hell trying to get it fixed. We were so excited by reading the reviews from other owners of reconditioned mixers but our excitement turned to disapointment. Unhappy customer :(

I bought this product when I was enrolled in a cake decorating class. The 325-watt Kitchen Aid mixer that I owned was very good, but I felt that the large quantities of frosting that I was required to make for class required a more powerful mixer. The 525-watt mixer gives me the quality that I expect to get from a Kitchen Aid product. It handles large batches of frosting flawlessly, while requiring very little scraping of the sides during the mixing process. After seeing this mixer in retail stores in the past, I had been somewhat hesitant about spending the amount of money that the stores wanted for this item. After finding it here on Amazon.com at such a great price, I said "What the heck" and decided to give it a try. A year later, I have no regrets. The only drawback to this item is that it is not as quiet as the 325-watt model regardless of the size of the batch that you are mixing. I find that the noise level has a tendency to rise with more dense batches of product (cookie dough vs frosting). I consider this minor as the results are always great and the 6-quart bowl makes large batches a cinch.

This is a mixer I have always wanted to own. With Amazon's free shipping available on orders over $25, I couldn't pass up this deal. My Kitchenaid mixer arrived in just a few days. Even though it is a factory refurbished machine, it does not have a scratch, looks brand new and works like a charm. I could not be more pleased. One of the best deals around.

I am very happy with this product as it came in like new condition and the performance of the mixer's power is excellent after making mashed potatoes and doubled batch size toll house cookies in it with no struggle. The 6 quart capacity is nice. I made the decision on this product after reading Consumer Reports and Amazon.com reviews, benefits and confidence of refurbished product info in Amazon.com, seeing certain TV cooks use this model and also seeing the new version of the model in a local store. I like the knob that lifts/lowers the bowl for you instead of the smaller models that have you lift the head of the mixer back. The mixer flat blade and whip beaters are not dishwasher safe and must be hand washed, but they are metal vs. some lower models are plastic I believe, so washing by hand is well worth the durability. The bowl is dishwasher safe. Making whip cream in it with the whip beater was easy.

Absolutely the best. It took some getting used to but it is amazing especially for things like egg whites. Consider an extra bowl if you will be baking a lot so you do not need to stop and wash a bowl before you finish.

While it worked, it was a five-star machine. I got the refurbished Professional 6-quart stand mixer right before Thanksgiving last year, and used it all the time, always following the instructions. I loved this mixer--great with meringues and cookie dough. I made about 20 batches of cookies during the holiday season and it was fine. It died on a freakin' cake mix, of all things. Suddenly, the motor just wouldn't turn when a beater was attached to it. Take the beater off and it works just fine, but put it on and it refuses to spin. Only lasted about five months. I looked into getting it fixed on KitchenAid's website, and even though I live in the 15th largest city in the US, I would have had to drive at least two hours to find someone who would fix it. Mailing it in to KitchenAid to fix it will cost more than replacing the mixer! Buy it new--at least that way you get a warranty if it's a dud. Other than that, it's a great mixer. I miss it.
