4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful little thing!
This hand mixer works very well, packing a bigger punch than something you'd get for less $$. Worth it if you're mixing a lot of cookie dough, or other thick batters.

I wish it came with whisk attachments that processed the food in a more efficient way -- you really have to maneuver these around to mix something thoroughly, probably because they aren't as...

1.0 out of 5 stars One beater broke - KitchenAid made it good!!!
I bought this mixer 6 months and 2 weeks ago. One of the beaters won't go in all the way - so I can only beat things with one beater. I tried to get it fixed under the warranty - because it is over 6 months - NO GOOD! But, I did buy it with my American Express credit card and they double the warranty!!! Long story short... American Express is giving me back my purchase price and you can be sure I won't buy this model. I am planning on purchasing a different model with Kitchen Aid because of their normally good quality products!! Hope I won't get burned again!

UPDATE! UPDATE!! UPDATE!!
KitchenAid made it good. They sent me another reconditioned hand mixer and it works perfectly!!! I will buy KitchenAid products from now on!!! Also, I tried to change my 1 star rating to a 5 star rating - but the system wouldn't let me - just know I give this product AND this company a 5 star rating!!! Thanks KitchenAid!!

This hand mixer works very well, packing a bigger punch than something you'd get for less $$. Worth it if you're mixing a lot of cookie dough, or other thick batters.

I wish it came with whisk attachments that processed the food in a more efficient way -- you really have to maneuver these around to mix something thoroughly, probably because they aren't as vicious as flat-edged whisk attachments.

Still, the thing never bogs out, and came in like-new order. A good price for a solid appliance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, July 16, 2008

I've had this reconditioned mixer about 6 months with absolutely no problems. It's great for mashing potatoes and any other mixing you'd do with a hand mixer. I bought it because the cost was about the same as many of the cheaper imported models. Even comes with a Warranty, so I think it's a good value. This mixer has five speeds and push button beater blade ejection. The slanted angle of the mixer makes it very easy to use. I recommend it.

Orginally a gift to replace the Kitchen Aid we once had, it definitely is a lot better than our last one. We use it more than we ever used our old one. The five speeds is a big upgrade compared to the three speed.

I wanted a KitchenAid mixer for a long time but couldn't see giving over $50 for a hand mixer. This reconditioned was a great price and you can't tell it's "reconditioned" at all. It works great, I love baking again!

The actual mixer seems to work just fine. In fact I like it much better than my old Sunbeam. However, the head fell off of one of the the metal mixing utensils the first time I used it. I will now have to order replacements.

I'm a big fan of Kitchen Aide products but this hand held unit seems a bit whimpy to me. I have the stand mixer and wanted something for small jobs. It works fine, just not much power.
