I have used these tools on my job and around the house. The batteries are fast to charge and really last. The batteries hold full power till the very end of the charge. The charger did not work after the first week and a local Makita service center replaced it no problem. The impact driver is the cats meow. It is my first and I only use the drill to drill, not drive screws. This is such a improvement over a standard cordless drill, I'll never be without one again. the hammer drill is a little weak. I also have a Dewalt 18 volt hammer drill and they are about the same. Makita's lithium batteries are very impressive.

When I bought this set it was down to Makita or Milwaukee. At the time, the Makita batteries were better but with Milwaukee's new "red" line of batteries, they really are basically identical, so if I was doing it again, I would shop solely based on price.

The impact driver is an awesome tool. I have a pneumatic impact for the hard stuff, but I haven't had to use it since I bought this set.
The reciprocating saw is good. I like the feel of the Milwaukee more, but I can't really identify what it is or fault the Makita in any way.
The hammer driver is a real work horse, has handled everything I have thrown at it.
The flashlight, well its a flashlight.
The batteries last long, charge quickly.

For being reconditioned, mine looked honestly brand new.

Overall, great little set.

i love these 18v ltx makita tools . i especially like that this kit has the bag rather than the hard plastic case. it is strong light and easy to carry and holds a lot of extra tools and accessories and the best part is at the end of the day you dont have to figure out how the tools go back in
