blows away the hefty 12 Volt NiCad Dewalt i replaced it with (after 2 years both batteries had stopped holding a charge on the Dewalt). i removed 2 large screws from a wall stud that the dewalt had struggled to insert. the makita zipped them both right out like they were screwed into drywall only. the batteries charge quickly.

one note, this is "reconditioned" but i expected that to mean it would be slightly used if at all but would be cleaned to like-new condition. not so! this thing was like it had just come off of a jobsite it had worked at for the past month. dirty, with light scratches all over.

it is still, such a quality drill with awesome features (keyless chuck is perfectly designed), is very compact and lightweight for a 18V powerhouse drill that i don't mind how used it is. i know it will last for years with the lithium ion batteries.

This drill is one of a kind. Amazingly lightweight but still powerful, just like a good race car. Makita has been my favorite brand of drill and remains it after taking this latest drill for a test drive. My co-workers are in love with it also. I am an office furniture installer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and use this drill at work. When we go on jobs together I find my co-workers using my drill often if im not using it.

The first unit I received was NOT factory reconditioned. It had mud impacted in the unit. One of the batteries was broken and wouldn't fit the charger. The second unit was much improved and performing nicely.

These guys did a great job. The drill arrived quickly and it's very difficult to tell that it's reconditioned and not brand new. In terms of performance it's exactly what I expected, having researched this drill carefully. Excellent in every way.

Have been using the Makita drill for a couple of weeks and it has done very well. Obviously I had anxieties about investing in a re-conditioned drill but am very satisfied. The item does not even come cleaned up like others have mentioned but no matter, it gets dirty when you start using anyway. Good purchase for those looking to cut some costs.

Drill was in good shape for being reconditioned. Works well with no mechanical defects. I ordered one for myself and one for my father. Drill is about half the weight of my current 18 volt drill.

I bought this drill from amazon while ago, drill it self is great, no dough about it. I looks that everything was certified by makita when you open box, but when I want to used it, charger was not working at all and one battery seem to be dead too!! I try to make charger and battery to work, but it won't happened after while. So I am not recommending to buy this drill as reconditioned.

I received the reconditioned drill driver from CPO Makita very promptly and was delighted with its nearly new condition. There were no signs of wear, no scratches, no issues whatsoever! I have used it several times since and am impressed with its torque, battery life, balance, swift recharging and ease of use. We purchased this a couple of years ago and we are still using it all the time. The light is very handy and it has plenty of power to do the job. The rechargeable batteries are still recharging quickly and we are so glad we bought it.
