5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't be happier
Came looking brand new. If it wasn't for someone etching a small serial number in the batteries and tool, you wouldn't be able tell they weren't brand new. Screws and bolts go in so quick and easy with the impact. Better than using a drill to put them in. Able to do jobs with these that my 12v Dewalt just couldn't handle.

3.0 out of 5 stars Condition is a mixed bag
I purchased the 18V Li-ion Milwaukee drill & impact driver combo as a factory reconditioned item. Drill, case, charger & batteries all look good with no obvious wear & tear. Impact driver is clearly the used item in my kit. The metal on the front has lots of scratches, not just minor scuffing of the surface. Some of the rubber coating is worn down, gouged & torn too...

2 things I wish it had; If the impact had a spot on it to hold a bit or 2. Ex. working in some older homes you run into slotted screws and philips. Would be nice to just clip them on the tool, instead of digging in your pocket for it or going back where you left it. And if the case had spot to throw some extra bits in.
Also Toolking was very good with getting me the tools quickly and with no hassles.

The product shipped with one bad battery, but it was replaced with no hassle. Both tools are great - plenty of power and battery life.

Hard to believe this is factory reconditioned. Runs perfectly and cosmetically it looks brand new. This is to good a deal to pass up.

5.0 out of 5 stars great drill and driver, September 11, 2010
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Milwaukee 2691-82 18-Volt Cordless M18 Lithium-Ion 2-Tool Combo Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
Why did I not throw my Dewalt away a long time ago. I use these drills and impact drivers every day. Both are great industrial products and work perfectly. They may be a tiny bit heaver than the competition, which means to me they are built to last and I do not need to by a new tool every 6 to 9 months. If you own other Milwaukee tools you need to be a little careful the M series and V series battery's, chargers, and tools may not all be compatible. I probably will buy a couple of the M-18-XC batterys just for a little longer run time, But for most projects the compact are fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reconditioned?, September 10, 2011

Case, drills and battery all appeared new, however the LED light on the impact driver was dead and there was no manual for the impact driver. There were manuals for the battery and one for the drill (2601-20), however--I am assuming that in a new kit manuals would be included for all components. I tested the drill/driver and at very slow speed there was uneven rough grinding--like a gear didnt mesh very well for half of the rotation.

Based on these deficiencies, I dont trust the "reconditioned" status of this kit--how can you miss a dead LED? Was this tool returned for the problems I discovered? Will return this purchase and order a brand new Milwaukee combo kit, I shouldnt have wasted my time on the reconditioned one--it wasnt worth the $30 savings.

On the positive side, good power, well balanced, comfortable weight for this girl.

UPDATE: I returned the reconditioned set and ordered the same combo kit NEW. The new set arrived today and I couldnt be happier. I was wondering if I had overreacted by giving the reconditioned set 1 star but now, with new drill in hand, I know I was on the mark. There was definitely something wrong with the driver I sent back. In comparison the slow speed rotation of the new drill is smoooooth, not a hint of grinding or unevenness. Ive decided that you take a chance with the reconditioned units and since they have all been sent back for some reason theres probably a greater chance of ending up with a lemon. $169 is alot of money to spend, not much less than $199, and it wasnt worth the product I was sent. I wont try buying reconditioned again.

Some of the rubber coating is worn down, gouged & torn too. It had to have been dropped or thrown more than once to look like that. I take care of my tools & it would take me quite a while & a several big projects to show the kind of wear I see on the impact driver. The good thing is it all seems to work as it should. Overall, I'm OK with it since it's all in working order, but for another $30 I wish I bought it new instead. BTW, the warranty on the reconditioned Milwaukee items is 1 year, so even though items may be used at bit, they do stand behind it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased, September 10, 2010

I received my drill quickly. The impact drill had a few small scuffs on it (no big deal) the drill looked like new. I have used both drills for several hours and both work excellent. The batteries hold a charge well and I would recommend getting a refurbished item from this company. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like new, September 25, 2010

Just like other refurbished tools I've purchased from Amazon, this set appears brand new, and works perfectly. The only way I could tell it was a refurb was the sticker on the case, and the previous owner's initials in an inconspicuous place on the batteries. I have pretty much used these tools non-stop since I got them.
I will continue to buy refurb tools from Amazon and save tons of money.
