5.0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee 1/2" Right angle Drill, January 12, 2003
By
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Milwaukee 3107-8 7.0 Amp 1/2-Inch D-Handle Right Angle Drill (Tools & Home Improvement)
An elcellent drill to be used in those tight corners and spaces where any other drill & bit will no go. Right angle head rotates through 360 degress to aid in those tight spaces. With the ability to drill stright as well this "specialized" tool is not. Typical Milwaukee construction. Just finished a 3500 sq.ft. home wiring job. Worth every penny and then some for timely completion especially with owner changing partitions nearly daily.

Top recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great recondition job, September 7, 2005

Wow - this is how a reconditioned tool should be. This thing has been hand inspected, polished, tuned and packaged with everything like new. Yes, there is a wear mark on the RAD, but I'll put plenty more there myself. This tool came with all the gizmos and gadgets that come in the new package (wrench, manual wrapped in plastic, chuck removal tool, new handle and extender). The quik lok cord was brand new, the drill had been freshly lubed (a little extra in the case attested to that!). The mark of "reconditioned" was discreetly placed underneath, not glaringly on top - not important, but another nice touch on the part of milwaukee. This is the second reconditioned drill I have bought from Milwaukee, and I have not found a reason to regret either purchase. I think they are better than new, since that have been tested and adjusted a second time before arriving. All the features and a lower price - Milwaukee reconditioned tools work for me.
I will be adding my review of a recon Porter Cable nailer on how a reconditioned tool shouldn't arrive.

5.0 out of 5 stars good value, great tool, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Milwaukee 3107-8 7.0 Amp 1/2-Inch D-Handle Right Angle Drill (Tools & Home Improvement)
I got this drill to make holes inside walls for electrical wire runs. This is a great tool and the refurb job is just like new. I used a paddle bit to get the job done, but make sure to purchase a self-feeding bit. Two speeds are forward/reverse. The top of the drill states made in the USA, I am assuming the whole drill is, not just the gearbox? I dropped the drill and it just dented the floor, not the drill. Well built. Very loud, and be sure to watch out for snags while using, because the drill has torque and will pull you around in a circle if you don't let go.

It's heavy. And it does one thing. It drills at an angle. It does it well. Over and over and over and over...
Highly recommended.

This drill has been great. It was a factory-reconditioned drill, but I wouldn't have been able to tell except for the stickers that said so. No dings or scratches on this drill when it came. I did have to change the 90 degree attachment around because it was on the faster setting and I wanted the slower setting. That wasn't to easy because I couldn't remove the chuck. I had to take it to a motor repair shop where they removed the chuck fairly easy because they have the right tools. And they didn't charge me. But as far as the drill works, it is great. Very happy with the drill and the price compared to brand new.

Owned it for 2 months, have drilled a lot of joist holes. Coupled with an auger bit, you can wire a house in short order. Yes, it is a little on the heavy side, but it is built to take the punishment of a demanding job. You wouldn't want a tool that wears out before you do. Using American-made tools feels good to me as well.

Not a bad tool has plenty of power to get thought wood studs with large drill bits on the end. It is a little heavy but that really means it is built well. Note on reconditioned tools if you like your tools on the newer side spend the extra 30 bucks and get a new one. My version has someone's elses name engraved in to it.

The fact that Milwaukee reconditions the tools makes me feel that I'll be getting a quality product. The drill performed flawlessly during the wiring of my whole new house. It doesn't bog down at all even when drilling through 4 studs. Of course a set of Irwin Speebor Max Spade Bits doesn't hurt Irwin Industrial Tools 3041006 Speebor Max Spade Bit Set, 6-Piece.

5.0 out of 5 stars a real meat eater, April 1, 2010

This thing is a real work horse. It's got the torque to drill through anything. Before when I needed a drill such as this, I either borrowed one or rented one. But when I saw the price I bought it with no hesitation. I've bought other Milwaukee reconditioned tools before and they performed flawlessly. This drill performs and delivers like a new one. When I knew that I had some remodel work to do I knew I had to get this knowing that I could use it without the meter running. I can also take off the angle drive and use this drill to mix tile grout and ect. This thing rocks. Ive never had a problem with any Milwaukee poer tools.

I have not used it much yet but like what I have

This tore right through a series of joists (end-to-end of an attic) followed by some doubled up studs at an awkward angle -- stuff that would have destroyed prior drills I have. So far this thing is solid -- the other reviews are on target.

I wanted to get the version of the drill with a slightly higher RPM but opted for the much less expensive refurbished version.

The pros:
Solid milwaukee drill - this type of corded tool is right in milwaukee's wheelhouse as far as what they do well.

The cons:
It is pretty heavy, corded, and you need a wrench to change the direction of the bit or swap the chuck. Per the description you can change the RPM by reversing the right angle chuck. All of these items are the trade-offs for getting a pretty solid tool that will stand up to a beating so they do not detract from the star rating at all; just worth knowing.

The only item I found annoying was someone's initials scratched into the handle -- easily corrected by scratching them out but that is the other trade-off for a cheaper, refurbished drill.
