The Hatchet was built for tight spaces. Milwaukee has once again taken reciprocating saws to a new level with this tool. The Hatchet features a six position pivoting handle, making it the most compact, unique, reciprocating saw on the market. Only 13-1/2 in. when fully pivoted, the Hatchet easily fits between 16 in. on center studs and between rafters and joists. This tool is designed to get into those confined areas that no other saw can reach! A 3/4 in. stroke length makes this tool ideal for cutting in tight spaces. The 7.5 amp Milwaukee-built motor provides the quality and durability you've come to expect from Milwaukee Sawzall® Reciprocating Saws. At a super fast 3,000 strokes per minute, and with aggressive orbital cutting action, the 6524-21 gets the job done quickly and efficiently. The Quik-Lok™ blade clamp makes changing blades fast and easy, and the Quik-Lok® cord allows for easy field replacement. Not only is the Hatchet fast, but it's comfortable to use with a cushion grip handle for comfortable superior gripping. It's also counter balanced for smoother operation and less vibration.

I have had one of the older Milwaukee Sawzalls and it has served me well for about 15 years. I purchased this saw thinking it was going to be a lot smaller than it is, and thought that I would use this saw to get into small places and the older saw for big jobs. As it turns out, this saw is as long or longer than the old Sawzall when extended. I was actually glad that it was larger, because it can replace the old Sawzall, but it is not as usefull as I had hoped with the handle at 90deg. So, it will replace the old Sawzall.
The downside is that I wish it had a little longer stroke length, and for it's size a little more power.
Other than that at good saw that I expect will last a long time.

Great for 2x4's.
Other than that it tends to bogg down when theres a medium load on the motor.
