This is a reconditioned power tool. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like new condition. Some tools may contain cosmetic blemishes. The EY6950GQKW 18V ½ hammerdrill/drill/driver gives you two great tools in one. In the hammerdrill mode you can drill in masonry brick and block with ease and speed. The tool delivers 1,550 rpm combined with 28,000 bpm for fast, clean and efficient masonry drilling. Put the tool in the drill/driver mode and you get 1,550 rpm in high speed and 425 in lbs of torque in low speed for drilling large diameter holes and driving large screws. In addition the drill/driver mode offers a 15-stage high torque clutch to let you control the precise power applied to the task. This combination of hammerdrill mode for masonry drilling and drill/driver mode for drilling and fastening makes the EY6950GQKW and ideal tool for installation of tapcon and other small diameter (1/2 or less) masonry anchors. The EY6950GQKW is compact, lightweight with great ergonomics to help reduce user fatigue. The ½ heavy duty keyless chuck prevents bit slippage and bit fall out when using the hammerdrill mode. The sure grip support handle gives you the control you need for heavy-duty jobs. The EY6950GQKW is powered by Panasonic's 3.5Ah Ni-MH battery pack, the highest capacity battery pack available in the market today. The 3.5Ah battery pack delivers extended run time so you can get the job done on your schedule. The EY6950GQKW includes the hammerdrill/drill/driver, two 3.5Ah Ni-MH battery packs, universal battery charger, sure grip support handle and high impact molded plastic case.

I bought this reconditioned hammer drill/driver primarily for the two included batteries; when looking at the cost of buying two Panasonic NiMH batteries it seemed like if I bought this package the included drill/driver would come along basically for free.

I couldn't be more pleased with the hammer drill/driver. It performs beautifully and is up to the high standards and quality that I have come to expect from Panasonic tools. I also couldn't be more displeased with the batteries that come in this kit. They are also "factory reconditioned" but I found that they are worthless after less than 10 charge/discharge cycles. They run for perhaps 5 minutes of continuous use if no significant load is placed on the tool; if one is drilling or screwing heavy material or if the batteries are used in the reciprocating saw in heavy material they last less than a minute. These are definitely *not* "like new" batteries.

Conclusion: Under no circumstances should you buy this "factory reconditioned" package.
