The Porter-Cable 5-inch variable speed random orbit sander is a reliable random orbit sander capable of fast, even material removal without bogging down. The included electronic, variable-speed 3.7 Amp motor provides variable speeds of 2,500 to 6,000 orbits per minute, making for quick, swirl-free material removal. The right-angled gearing system allows the sander to maintain consistent speeds even when pressed down hard onto the work piece. Even with it's ability to offer fast material removal, the sander gives off relatively little vibration, and the large barrel grip allows users to hold and operate the tool without excessive hand fatigue.

I found the 7335 to produce a swirl free finish and not to bog down. It also was very easy to change the self stick sanding disks instead of the hook and loop headache system. The power is a good length. The variable speed control was easy to adjust and I found the sander to be well balanced. It is definitely a pleasure to work with. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good finish on their projects. As long as Porter Cable continues in the tradition of producing great tools I will keep investing in them. This is one awesome sander.

I am a professional cabinet maker, we have had a two of these sanders in use in my shop for several years now. Always reliable, with the exception of brushes wearing out about once a year or so. Fast stock removal, with a good overall finish quality. We use the Stickit style self-adhesive sanding discs, after a few thousand discs, the extra cost of hook/loop discs adds up. Stay with the hook/loop for small jobs though, once you take a self-stick paper off, it won't really stick right again. Highly recommended.

I have to add my 5 stars to this tool's rating. I've used it on over a dozen projects over the past year and a half and love using it. It does a terrific job regardless of what I ask it to do. Any surface I put it to, turns out like glass. One nice feature is that the handle can be mounted on either side to accommodate both lefties and righties. Also, the stick on sanding discs are very quick and easy to work with. This is a high quality tool which I plan on having in my shop many more years.
