Factory-Reconditioned Porter-Cable FN250BR 3/4-inch to 2-1/2-inch 16-Gauge Nailer

Amazon.com Product Description

The Porter-Cable FN250B 2-1/2-Inch 16-Gauge Nailer has been redesigned from the ground up with a slimmed down, smooth body and lighter weight. It features a Teflon cylinder to reduce drag and increase O-ring life, as well as a reengineered piston bumper to house a piston "catch," ensuring the full stroke of the driver blade will always be utilized. Its tapered magazine provides more clearance for installing crown moldings or nailing in tight spaces. With the ability to shoot all 16-gauge finish nails ranging from 3/4-inch to 2-1/2-inch without the use of a nail guide, the applications for this gun are endless. A built-in depth-of-drive adjustment with eight detents allows consistent countersinking of each nail regardless of wood type. The exhaust port is muffled to keep noise to a minimum and is adjustable to direct air away from the operator. A non-marring tip protects delicate projects but can be removed when more visibility or tip clearance is needed, and its quick-release nosepiece allows quick clearing of jammed nails when hidden obstructions are hit. The FN250B weighs 3-3/4 pounds and operates at 70 to 120 psi. With a 100-nail magazine capacity, it comes with the standard restrictive-fire trigger, a carrying case, oil, and an operating manual.

Note: This is a reconditioned power tool, meaning that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer for restoration to "like-new condition." Some reconditioned tools may contain cosmetic blemishes.

Just bought FN250BR, first time using a finish nailer, and I already don't know how I did without it. Easy to use, light weight, and looked brand new out of the box. One thing I was not sure of was, how would I know if I hit a stud without feeling the nail being driven in. Easy, when you hold the molding up tight to the ceiling and drive a nail the molding pulls up tighter if you hit a stud. Almost gave this product a 4 star rating, when it came there were no nails in the case, and boy I wanted shoot some nails.

I have owned this Reconditioned finishing nailer for almost a year now and have yet to encounter a single problem. Nailer came in perfect condition even though it was factory reconditioned. I have used many brands of nailers and would recommend nothing but porter cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Air nailers can't be beat., May 28, 2003

I have the 250Ar, but I'm sure it's similar/same. I have not tried a lot of finish nailers, but I can tell you I'm happy with this one:

-- going from 3/4 to 2.5 inches is a wide range
-- tool requires a quick look at the manual to use the first time, then easy easy easy.
-- price is right -- and probably the best you'll find anywhere.

If you do any amount of finish work, I think this tool is worth it (though, you need to have/buy a compressor to use it!). I found that you definitely need to regulate the pressure going into this tool -- my best luck has been with 90lbs (or a bit less, though that's out of spec). Drives nails VERY accurately.

Mine came with nails, so I'm pretty happy! I've bought plenty of refurbished tools... without any problems ever. I wouldn't hesitate!
