5.0 out of 5 stars First time user... never again.
Just bought FN250BR, first time using a finish nailer, and I already don't know how I did without it. Easy to use, light weight, and looked brand new out of the box. One thing I was not sure of was, how would I know if I hit a stud without feeling the nail being driven in. Easy, when you hold the molding up tight to the ceiling and drive a nail the molding pulls up...

3.0 out of 5 stars Porter Cable nailer
I received the nailer, but no nails or manual were included. The nailer looks to be in good shape, but I have not tried it yet.

One thing I was not sure of was, how would I know if I hit a stud without feeling the nail being driven in. Easy, when you hold the molding up tight to the ceiling and drive a nail the molding pulls up tighter if you hit a stud. Almost gave this product a 4 star rating, when it came there were no nails in the case, and boy I wanted shoot some nails.

I have owned this Reconditioned finishing nailer for almost a year now and have yet to encounter a single problem. Nailer came in perfect condition even though it was factory reconditioned. I have used many brands of nailers and would recommend nothing but porter cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Air nailers can't be beat., May 28, 2003

I have the 250Ar, but I'm sure it's similar/same. I have not tried a lot of finish nailers, but I can tell you I'm happy with this one:

-- going from 3/4 to 2.5 inches is a wide range
-- tool requires a quick look at the manual to use the first time, then easy easy easy.
-- price is right -- and probably the best you'll find anywhere.

If you do any amount of finish work, I think this tool is worth it (though, you need to have/buy a compressor to use it!). I found that you definitely need to regulate the pressure going into this tool -- my best luck has been with 90lbs (or a bit less, though that's out of spec). Drives nails VERY accurately.

Mine came with nails, so I'm pretty happy! I've bought plenty of refurbished tools... without any problems ever. I wouldn't hesitate!

5.0 out of 5 stars great buy, March 9, 2007
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Porter-Cable FN250BR 3/4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch 16-Gauge Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
Have now used this on several relatively small projects (softwood and hardwood) over about 6 months. Has performed perfectly everytime. No jams. Very user friendly - changing nails is quick and simple. Very pleased with purchase. However, this is only with what I would consider very "light duty" use.

this tool has been used quite often now and it works very well for the use or abuse it takes the tool is being used by students or as we say stud-ences no we dont use the line free when teaching we teach them to use the tool that came first and then we make it a little easy for them no sence starting with what they cant afford and for the difference in price why would they
the porter cable has stood the test of time with no complaints as anyone would tell you the toughest thing to do to a tool is let it be used by various people but AS WAS STATED IT STILL WORKS WELL
WITH NO COMPLAINTS

Purchased this product to speed up the process of building a deck. This item performed flawlessly. Easy to use, fairly light weight and drives nails without splitting the wood. Love it!

I have not had much of a chance to use my recon FN250BR, I did a few test fires, fastened 1" thick synthetic fiber Hardi Trim boards to pine 2x4. Great penitration, solid. Nail nice and flush with top surface. This Recondioned Nail gun is in very good condition, looks like new. I own the matching framer, very pleased with it as well. Seller shipped in very timely manor. Very Pleased and Happy with my purchas.
