OK, I knew this was a re-conditioned item but I expected something a little better than what I received. Pulling it out of the box, it looked like I just lifted it off some ones work bench in the middle of a project. Dirty, dusty, and worn, but works. I am not sure what was 'reconditioned' on this piece. The hook and loop pad on the bottom is so worn out it barely holds the sand paper and the tip is just about useless as worn is as it is. With all this being said, we liked the way it fit in our hands and thought it could do a good job in a better condition. We went to home depot and purchased a new sander which works wonderfully. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra few dollars to get a new tool and you will be happy with your purchase.

I was really hoping that this sander would work well so I could stick with the One+ battery-tools, but it's not good because it takes you for a very rough ride unless you're only using the front corner. I tried to use the whole pad (not just the front corner) to replace a pad sander, but it was a disaster--heavy gouging and swirl marks even though I applied very little pressure. I took it back and got a Makita pad sander, which I only tried for a few minutes, but seemed okay. I need a really great, smooth, flat, well-balanced final sander for the 180 to 220 grits on Walnut plywood (with its very thin veneer). Hopefully, the Makita will work out, but it seems a little aggressive. We'll see.

Been using Ryobi 18 volt tools for 5 years or more. They are great for small jobs.
Best tool for me is the hammer screw diver. over 200 hours of use. Fantastic tool!
Sander motor gave up after about 100 hours of use ( a lot of use) I got my monies worth.
Drill motor gave up after about 100 hours of use. I got my monies worth.
Hammer drill very good.
Chain saw still works well.
Saws all saw works well
Circ. saw works well.
Light is toast. Dropped it.
Went to biggest and best batteies, worth extra cost.
Thats my input!
