Less than perfect,

This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi ZRP815 ONE Plus 18V Cordless Compact Drill Kit (Misc.)
I got the drill with two batteries as ordered. It worked fine with the exception that it look like someone build a house or two with it. It was somewhat dirty and scrathed up pretty bad - especially the black housing near the drill bit. The bubble level was broken and I thought it was minor. Originally when buying the drill, I was thinking it would be new like a refurb item you see at the outlet store but it's rather something you pick up at a pawn shop. Don't get me wrong, it served it purpose for my litle house projects. I can't tell you how good the batteries are since never had a lithium battery before. After charging them one time, the second battery would not charge. The charger would just blink indefinitely. The first battery is charging fine. So I talk to CPO customer service and they are sending me to RYOBI directly because it's after 30 days. How do you refurb a battery anyway? Spend a little more and get something new.11/08/2011 Update: After 14 months, my charger stopped charging. I called Ryobi and they said that RECONDITIONED items has 1 year manufacturer warranty. Changing from 2 star to 1 star.

Good Deal for Battery Alone,

I picked this up for the 2 batteries included plus charger. The Lith Ion batteries alone are around $89 at most stores, so this package gave you 2 batteries, a charger, plus a drill. The "compact" part isn't really that much smaller than the regular Ryobi (Blue) drill but I didn't really care about that. All of the batteries and rill are stamped "RECON" on them.

Overpriced for reconditioned,
This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi ZRP815 ONE Plus 18V Cordless Compact Drill Kit (Misc.)
Not a bad lightweight drill. It has less power than the larger Ryobi drill (p250) and it comes with the small lithium battery with a much shorter run time than Ryobi's full size battery. If you are a homeowner who only needs to drive screws into soft wood for 30 minutes or so, this will meet your needs. I have had good success with reconditioned tools, but I only buy reconditioned if there is a decent savings. You can buy the p815 new at Home Depot for $139. Why take a chance on reconditioned?
