The Skil SHD77M is a Factory Reconditioned 7-1/4 inch Magnesium Worm Drive Saw. This Worm Drive Saw delivers 15 Amps of power, cutting through more material in less time. The upgraded motor of the SHD77M contains new high-temperature wiring to handle the increased power. The new worm drive offers a 24-tooth carbide blade to perform the most rigorous cuts. A two position saw hook ensures safe rafter placement. The patented Anti-Snag lower guard of the Skil SHD77M provides smooth operation for small cut-off pieces.   Features: 20 Amps switch provides the user with maximum reliability. Durable aluminum foot is designed to endure jobsite abuse. Tough worm drive gearing lasts five times longer than hypoid gears. Upgraded motor of the SHD77M contains new high-temperature wiring to handle the increased power. Two position saw hook ensures safe rafter placement. These little suckers are great power tools that last, through time and through the elements. Iv seen their use in construction and have used them myself, although I prefer the feel of the Bosch wormdrive. All in all this tool is reliable and will get the job done through lite or heavy use

This power saw has hardly changed in over 30 years. My father's has a version of this saw from the 60's and it still works. His is a bit heavy though. This one is many pounds lighter and hopefully it will last me as long. Too bad it's not made in USA any longer.
