This is our third Vornado unit. We bought a Vornado heater to take the chill off the kitchen in the winter, and a small Vornado fan to help circulate air in the kitchen area during our very hot summers and the last one is the larger one that we use in our exercise room. They are the best but buying factory reconditioned units makes them all the better.

I can't say enough good things about Vornado fans.

I have the small (500 series) and medium (600 series) Vornado fans and tried out a 750B that belongs to a friend. Even the 510 is powerful, and the 750B goes well beyond the two smaller size fans in power. Turned as low as it will go, it still creates quite a breeze 10 feet away (same as 510 on medium or high), and moves air in a wider swatch so it would better cool everyone sitting on a couch or at a table, not just one or two people it's pointed directly at (as the 500 is better suited for). The 750B would also be ideal if you wanted to move lots of air from an air-conditioned room to a room without air-conditioning. One friend bought a 750B for a dance studio, and on high setting in a large open room dancers could still feel some breeze twenty or more feet away.

Very little noise at all on low. It does make a lot more noise when it's cranked all the way up.

The main disadvantage is that's it's a little big to sit in a standard hallway or doorway (15-16" wide), and is too deep to sit in a window without some kind of platform (the 600 is the perfect size and balance to sit in a window sill). Where it's size is not an issue (and 15" wide still isn't a huge fan. It's a little deeper than it is wide), the 750B is excellent. After seeing Vornado fans, three of my friends/family decided to get this 750B.

I bought one of these for my son's bedroom because on a hot day it is like being in an oven. We tried box fans, window fans, and ocillating fans and none of them provided much relief. Needless to say, by the time I came across the Vornado I was a bit skeptical about how effective it would be, but decided to try it anyway. Boy am I glad I did!!! I cannot believe the difference in room temperature after the Vornado has been running a few minutes!! It is truly remarkable. One day my husband was cooking a roast in the oven and burnt it so badly that smoke began to permeate the whole house. I set the Vornado up near an open window and WALLA..in minutes the smoke was gone. This is certainly not your average fan..it is the only brand I will buy!!

The Vornado is great. It is quiet, efficient, and does everything the editor's review says it does. It has helped my keep my electric bill under $40, and I have a 3 story townhome. This product is great.

This fan is absolutely the best fan I have ever owned. I used this fan to push the air around my house for proper ventilation of the air conditioning and heating. I used to have to huddle up near the vent to get some heat or air. Or even have to crank the A/C up pretty high to get it feeling comfortable. Now, I can just place the fan in a spot in my house and turn it on and my house feels so good. I am not sure of the amount I save on electricity, but my bills have gone down.

This fan singlehandedly got rid of the terrible stink from the gentle persons tarring a large roof across the street. They have been working on this roof and unfortunately constantly retarring it for weeks!! I have finally got relief without having to use the A/C to filter out the tar smell. This Vornado makes my livingroom feel absolutely delightful!! I have the smaller Vornado air circulator (pedestal model) in the foyer and this larger one in the living room. It is fairly hot and muggy out but my apartment (which is large) is very comfortable, even without putting any of the A/C units on.

After going through (burning out) 4 cheaper (but not cheap) fans that I believed to be cooling efficient.. I invested in 2 of these fans early last summer.. I use them with and without my a/c.. running constantly at various speeds and have reached the pinnacle of comfort and savings never realized with any of the others.. I would never buy another brand again.. My electric bill is averaging at least twenty-five dollars less each month over previous years and temps have been in the 80's and 90's for 2 months already... This is with the steady increases in the KW rates.. Buy it.. you won't be sorry..

I prefer the Greystone color. We set it up in the sickroom, for my mom's poor stepmother. She has the grippe and sometimes it gets pretty powerful in there. I have to make sure my mind is empty in order to perform my work in my customary fashion, and ugly smells can be such a powerful disincentive to working well, as most people who've worked with me will tell you, so we set it on "high" and let 'er rip! My mind emptied out, per tradition, the work flowed in its usual way, and old stepma just got the stink blown off her. We love it, all of us. Also drowns out the kids, though in a, rest assured, very very quiet way.
