The factory reconditioned single-disc DVD-5750 lets you watch DVDs, listen to CDs, and even view digital photos right on your TV, making it a great centerpiece for your home theater system. Among the formats handled by the player are DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, VCD, SVCD, CD, CD-R, and CD-RW, along with MP3-, WMA-, and JPEG-filled CDs. It also plays DivX-formatted movies burned onto a DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW, allowing you to fit up to five full movies on a single disc. Home theater enthusiasts with HD or HD-ready TVs, meanwhile, will appreciate the unit's progressive scan technology. Referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, progressive scan creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.
The DVD-5750 also employs a 10-bit video digital-to-analog converter with a high-resolution filter to speed up the video signal processing, resulting in an enhanced picture with minimal digital artifacts. Audio-wise, the player's 24-bit/192 kHz audio D/A converter reproduces topnotch sound whether you're listening to movie soundtracks or the latest CD release. And thanks to the parallel audio/video outputs, you can connect the DVD player via composite, S-video, and/or component video outputs and watch and listen simultaneously to several connected devices, an ideal feature for multi-room applications.
The DVD-5750 is also loaded with video extras, ranging from multi-angle playback to multiple aspect ratios to a digital picture zoom that lets you magnify an area of the picture or increase the viewable screen area for letterbox films. Audio enhancements, meanwhile, include an audio-direct switch; CD upsampling playback (to an incredible 1,764 kHz) for the best-possible sound quality from your standard audio CDs; and MP3 and WMA compatibility, including the ability to play multisession discs and mixed-format MP3/JPEG CDs.
Additional features include subtitle capabilities, a child lock (DVD and VCD) and parental lock function (DVD only) that prevents children from viewing adult-themed material, a five-disc memory, program play, a sleep timer, and 12 onscreen display languages. The DVD-5750, which also includes one coaxial and one optical digital audio output, measures 17 by 2 by 12 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.

The overall of this equipment is very good. It offers both possibilities to use it just as DVD player with standard featuresand very good quality, and as CD player with very good quality of sound. The negative point in my opinion is that the front control is very poor. Just have four function buttons (Power,Play, Stop, Eject, no Forward, no Rewind, no function Menu, etc)
