Ok, who hates tub baths for kids? Me, that's who. It's a big time and water waster. Fill the tub with water and soap and let your kids sit in there for however long they want to play? Yuck. For starters letting girls sit in soapy water contributes to their contracting UTI's. Secondly, how do you get them thoroughly rinsed off? Drain the soapy water and fill the tub again? More water down the drain. It also looks like a ton of work to keep the bath in pristine enough condition that you would allow your children to sit in that water in the first place. Augh! I...do...not...understand.

What else can I do? You may ask. Get the Rinse Ace Pet Shower Deluxe. I love my Rinse Ace. I did a lot of research to find something like it and it seems to be the only hose of its kind available to the general public. The other devices I saw were for professional groomers and they were really expensive and difficult to install. I know... this is supposed to be for washing pets, but it works really, really well on your kids too. The hose is a whopping eight feet long and the sprayer has a firm but gentle spray. It is great for washing hair because you can direct it better, and it has a little more force than just pouring cupfuls of water on their heads. Water only flows when the sprayer button is pressed, and it can be set to continuously spray as well. It easily connects to your showerhead. When it is connected there is a complete water shutoff to the showerhead. No water is wasted here. I also use it to clean the bath itself.

When they say this product is guaranteed, they mean it. I have gotten a few replacement parts over the last couple of years (they do wear out when you use them every day). You have to plug and unplug it all the time if you use the sprayer and the regular shower everyday.

Avoid the plastic diverter valve, cracked on me before I could even tighten it. A quick email to the company, and they bent over backwards to make sure that I had a replacement metal one free-of-charge within a couple of days! A company that stands by its product, I highly recommend!

Before I got this product, I was using a plastic cup to dump water over my 5lb poodle and my 45lb aussie mix. BACK BREAKING work, especially for the larger dog. I went looking for a hose that would hook up to a normal bathroom tub and shower combo. This was the only thing I could find that fit the bill. It was easy to hook up (and I am not a do-it-yourself kind of gal) and it made the both baths take less than 15 minutes! I don't know how I bathed my own dogs before I bought this!

We use this regularly for bathing our kids, particularly for washing/rinsing hair. We had the older model at our last house, the new model is quite an improvement with the variable flow and capability to turn it off at the sprayer.

Works well too (of course) for washing the dogs :)

I would not recommend leaving the sprayer on and pressurized (i.e. on at the faucet, off at the sprayer) for long periods as you'll test how well your shower piping is sealed. The thread tape at the top angle of our shower in our last house wasn't sealed well and we accidentally left it on (for a few days) and had some leakage into our basement. Not the fault of the sprayer, but something you may not think about (as we didn't) until too late.

Product works well BUT needs a real metal fitting rather than the plated plastic. I understand there is one; just sell it that way in the first place. Will save retrofit time and expense.

I really like this!
It is exactly what I wanted, and works great!
The only thing that I wish was different is that the connection was ACTUALLY metal and not plastic.
I had to use the tape that came with the package in order to not have any significant leaks (we have an old house, so there is a little drop of water that comes down ever second or so, but it's barely noticeable and only happens when the water is on. I don't mind).
My puppy loves this. It isn't as noisy as having the water run constantly and it is isn't as uncomfortable as having a glass of water dumped on her head!
It reduced bath time significantly!

Update:
I have used this thing for shaving as well, and I have to say I LOVE IT!
I don't like shaving while I shower, nor while I'm in the bath, so this is the perfect solution to make shaving easy!
This is a GREAT product and is a multi-tasker!

We have two big dogs and this was a purchase long overdue! The water pressure on this is great, it made washing/rinsing fast and penetrated their double coats in a breeze. I imagine it was a nice massage for the dogs as well (the pressure would by no means be so strong that it's painful). The length of this hose is why I chose it over other options, it allows me to easily maneuver in the shower and reach behind/around/under the dogs when washing.

Installation is so easy and straightforward. I must stress that to avoid leakage in the connectors: do NOT over-tighten! In fact, do not even "tighten" in the usual sense. Screw on the connector with just your fingers, when it stops turning, STOP. If you try to give it that "one last twist" with the grip of your hand to "tighten" it, it will be over-tightened and the connector will leak. We made that mistake and had to install it twice. I know it sounds very counter-intuitive because to prevent a leak you'd usually make something extra tight and sealed, but it's just the opposite.

I gave it one less star because of the tricky leakage issue. The first time we installed it, we definitely over tightened it and water was squirting out of the connector. The second time we installed, it was fine until we decided to give it an extra half a turn to bring the spout to the other side (mistake!) and now there's a small leak/drip, but it's negligible. All in all, I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend.
