Awesome surround sound, May 20, 2009
This review is from: Factory-renewed Bose® CineMate® digital home theater speaker system (Electronics)
I wanted a bose surround sound system and I could not afford a new one. This system is awesome. The best part, other than the great sound, is the fact that there are no rear speakers to deal with. Thank you Bose. I highly recommend it.

Best Value!, May 22, 2009
This review is from: Factory-renewed Bose® CineMate® digital home theater speaker system (Electronics)
I had never bought a refurb unit for a high-priced product, so was skeptical at first. But after I received the product and tested it, it was just like NEW. I've been using this for about a month without any problems what so ever. I highly recommend this.

Need clearer information about inputs on electronics, December 13, 2009
This review is from: Factory-renewed Bose® CineMate® digital home theater speaker system (Electronics)
I did a lot of research on Amazon and on other websites including the Bose website trying to be sure that the "CineMate digital home theater speakers system" would accept the optical output from my new flat screen TV. Well, this item only takes RCA inputs (analog!) and my TV only has optical output so I couldn't connect them together. It was a big disappointment.
I connected it to my DVD player's RCA outputs and the sound was awesome, but that didn't help when we watched TV, so I sent it back.
On an important positive note, the customer service at Bose was excellent and they returned my money promptly.
Now my problem is trying to convince myself to spend twice as much on the Cinemate II (almost as much as I spent on the TV) or more than double the money on the IIGS, both of which appear to accept the optical input from my TV.
