I love this album. It really takes you places. I feel like im sitting in a dark, smokey jazz club just about last call. Kristin has the best voice, and the music is right on. Its almost creepy. I love it!!

This cd is so freakin' good. I LOVE it. Kirstin Asbjornsen was the perfect choice for the music for this film. She captures the grit and depression of Bukowski... features two Bukowski poems set to music. Sparse, raspy, and sad... this truly is music for a "slow day, moving into a slow night"

4.0 out of 5 stars walkin the clouds, March 27, 2007

If you like the movie and so if you are a fan of bukowski then you have to have this CD. You will find yourself driving alone with a beer between your legs in the middle of nowhere. I think you will love the idea.

Kristin Asbjornsen's voice is hypnotic making these broody songs irresistable. What made this CD even more enjoyable for me was finding out that she wasn't just handed the lyrics and songs but she actually took the time to read through a good number of Bukowski's poems, wrote the music to the one's that best fit the mood of the movie and voila a perfect accompaniment to the movie Factotum.

A definite recommendation to folks that enjoy slow music with a twist of Bukowskian existential lyrics.

I heard an interview with Kristin Asbjornsen on PBS and some of her compositions were played. I immediately liked the simplicity of her writing and her captivating voice, singing the dark poems of Charles Bukowski. Many times I delve into these moods myself, so I don't find this style depressing at all. Actually it encourages me to accept the whole spectrum of my being and use it for creative purposes.
