Excellent reference, August 3, 2008
This review is from: The Facts on File Chemistry Handbook (Facts on File Science Handbooks) (Hardcover)
This book is an excellent resource for anyone who needs a quick refresher on anything related to basic chemistry. Need to know the characteristics of the halogens? Can't remember how the process of distillation actually works? What is cream of tartar anyway? This book has all the answers written in clear and precise language in it's glossary, which is over 100 pages long. The glossary also contains diagrams and illustrations for many of it entries, including things like lab set-ups, types of bonds, and states of matter. The book also contains a large section of biographical and historical information that can provide a quick reference if you need to look up something chemistry-related or if you're just looking for something interesting to flip through.
