5.0 out of 5 stars Useless but priceless, November 7, 2000

This review is from: Facts and Fancies (Paperback)
Armando Iannuci, the brains behind the British comedic success of On The Hour and The Friday Night Armistice is back - in book form - to twist the demented minds of the people he satirises: you, the general public. From the notions and misconceptional uses of music and sound, to a deranged psychotic sociopath wanting to form his own cult, this book analysis and swiftly tears apart virtually everything we know and experience. With such articulation and broadband humour, Ianucci deserves parise (and a bit more money) from this perfectly formed book. As entertainment it excels beyond anything sane and satisfactory, and as for fact... well, you'd be better off with a copy of Dicken's A Tale of two Cities. This book lies to its top teeth but leaves you with the feeling that, if only all of us were as insane as the author, perhaps we're not all as insane as we appear to be. Feel sorry for him and laughs your guts out. And maybe a bit more. Top notch stuff.
