Dear reader. Just listen to the third song on this release, "Forget It." Just once. You don't hear great vocal harmonies, killer guitar hooks, and an unbelievably catchy chorus in 7/4, 6/4 every day. It's just one example of how talented David Reid is as a songwriter and how amazing The Contrast is as a band. On this, their third album, they've hit on all cylinders. Label it power pop if you want, it's simply great music. Wow.

This band caught my attention on Little Steven's Underground Garage. Although I usually shy away from catchy pop songs, I can say that The Contrast writes them better than today's emo bands or the mainstream shoe-gazing Brit pop bands ten years ago. I can't really compare them to anyone current, but guitar work reminds me of early Dumptruck if they had been on Prozac (OK...I'm 35 years old and out of touch with current music).
High points of the album are Disconnected, Something Tells Me, and Your Starring Role. I need to check out some of their early work.
